Congratulations to the class of 1999. You all proved more or less adequate.

Thanks for condolences everyone.

Anyway, I am sorry to hear that. Is there anything I can do for you?

This wasn't a big surprise and I wasn't really close to her so I'm mostly fine, other than feeling bad for my dad, though he seems to be taking it quite well. I think he's had a lot of time to prepare since she's been in a nursing home with Alzheimers and no quality of life for the last 6 years or so.

Apparently as 1 of her only 2 grandchildren (my sister is the other) my dad wants me to say something at the service. I'm at a loss so if anyone has any funeral appropriate ideas, I'm open to suggestions.

Elena, I think my profile email is fine.

Oh, yes, of course... Your profile. How logical.

Speak for yourself. I know a lot about volcanos.

And obscure Albertan towns?

... and that's a Pantera's box you don't want to open. - Mister Furious

Don't be hasty, now. I can't guarantee that I'm not an ancient Roman god. I don't think I am, but I can't back that up.

Elena, roommate works there, and can score their extra stuff when they get rid of it.

hip deep in pie

Megan, what about reading a poem that your grandmother liked, or one that reminds you of her. That's what J. did at her grandmother's memorial and it was quite lovely.

Thanks for all the fish.

Cool. Have you looked there for a job? Because they might have jobs there.

This is the real sad part - I didn't have a close relationship with her so I have no idea if she liked poetry or not. I can't even think about a funny or happy anecdote to tell since all I can remember about my time with her was the time she made me an egg salad sandwich for lunch - and I hate egg salad.

I think I'm feeling guilty for not getting to know her when I had the chance.
