Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Buffy ,'Sleeper'

Atlantic Canadian Monday Madness

[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!

Yay! Thanks, Megan.

In other entertainment news, I now have a DVD player! I had a bit of trouble setting it up (I couldn't figure out how to set the TV to the correct input). I eventually managed to get it done by the time-honoured approach of calling my brother for help, having him come over and then finding the page in the TV manual myself pretty much right away. But I gave him apple pie with ice cream, so I think we're ok.

Anyone else have trouble with the volume on Angel last night? I had to turn my TV up to 30 or use closed captioning in order to get the gist of anything. WHA!

congrats on the DVD Ouise!

hip deep in pie

I watched Escape from the Newsroom and taped Angel. I did watch a bit of AtS during commercials and I did find it quiet.

Congrats 'Ouise! Have you bought any DVD's yet? We should start a little DVD lending library between the Halifaxistas.

I haven't bought any DVDs yet. Nora's going to get FoTR when the second versoin comes out in about two weeks. I'm really happy that the library has started a collection, so I'll be able to see movies for free. I think a Halifaxista library sounds great!

I found Angel's sound to be terribly muddy. Nora was talking on the phone in the same room during pretty much the entire episode, and I'd say that I only caught about half of the lines. Partway through I stopped trying so hard and just watched it. I could follow what was going on even without half of the lines, but it still made me sad. I enjoyed the episode anyway. Wasn't the guy who attacked Cordy gross. I have no idea why he was in the hotel (more of the mumbling), but I yelped really loudly when his face opened up. Ugh!

Thanks for all the fish.

Didn't we see the face-splitting demons before? I'm sure I remember the line/ridge down their chin.

We've got a moderately large and varied DVD collection... We can certainly look at a lending library.

I watched Angel in Toronto, and the sound was okay... I think it would be very ironic and fitting were Cordy and Connor to get together... Take that Angel.

Is there a new Firefly tomorrow? Megan, when would be a good time for me to borrow your tape?

Anytime Ouise. I'm off work tomorrow, but I can drop it off at your place around when you might be getting home. Or if you walk through Scotia Square I could meet you in there.

I'm not at work so I won't be checking this site much today. Do you have my phone number Ouise? I can pop down to your place around 5, if you'll be home. Check your dangerbread account....
