We have a JVC DVD from Ron's TV and VCR in Dartmouth. It wasn't expensive at all and we've been happy with it so far. It's just a regular one, not a multi region one. Like Sue, I couldn't see myself affording to buy DVDs from Europe so I didn't really seriously consider buying a multi region player.

Atlantic Canadian Monday Madness
[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!
Thanks, I'm really leaning towards a regular DVD. I just feel like I'm letting down the side by being insufficiently geeky. Maybe I'm compensate by putting some tape on my glasses.
By the way, Elena, my friend's name is Joanne, not Jane. (from Press) Thanks so much for adding the picture - I'm just sorry we couldn't all be together in it.

Um, wasn't there a post from me about screwing up the HTML? Where did it go.
Ouise, I'm sorry. I'll change it right now... Joanne, Joanne, Joanne.
My DVD player was a gift from my folks. It is probably not multi-region.
Heh. Nora said she was going to talk you into it.
Also, how noisy is the Velvet Olive of an evening? Because I want to be able to chat. Any thoughts on where to meet?
I think the Olive is pretty quiet during the early evening. Doesn't have comfy chairs though. Did anyone know of any hotel lounge type places?
The Weston has comfy chairs, but it's far away and the lounge is more of a lobby. What about the Prince George? Or the Delta Barrington? Anyone?
The Prince George has a very small lounge as part of their restaurant. It's okay, but not very cozy. I don't know about the Delta Barrington. I don't think they have a lounge, jsut a restaurant.
How many of us are coming anyway?
Brian and I.
Louis, my student, suggests 'Pitchman's Pub', right across from the Prince George as a good location.
