I think IRL, I would find Buffy too bossy. Bossy people make me want to do the opposite just to be contrary to their bossiness.
Which probably means I would have died in Season 1.
'Shells'
[NAFDA] We used to get Buffy the day before everyone else, now we get Angel a week after everyone else. And Firefly every Monday!

And when they were in the lab she didn't use the gas flame on the highly flammable vampire - granted, she did use it on a Harbringer, but vamps are much more up-in-flamey.
It looked to me like she intended to flame the vamp - there was a quick shot of her flipping on a bunson burner - but she got distracted when the Bringers showed up.
I thought all the Buffy/Spike awkward-ex crap was strained as hell
But I loved that the SiW's picked up on it right away, as opposed to...say.... her slow-on-the-uptake best friends last season.
And how "watcher's council" was it for her to lock the 4 slayers in training into a crypt with the vampire?
Totally! That surprised me.
See, I tend to adore bossy women who know what they are doing. I become their very nice sidekick. Hmmm. I haven't however, yet taken up magic.

You're probably quite right; too bad she was busy being pinned to the ground to do it.
Does anyone else think that having the FE retreat to re-group is kind of a lame excuse to do something else for an episode? I mean, it's the First Evil!!! Shouldn't it be chock-full of evil goodness all the time? Shouldn't it know every evil trick in the book?
Yeah, I caught her turning on the gas tap too.
And my last (utterly obscure) shout-out moment was that Giles was in Shanghai collecting another potential -- which proved to me that I'm still not over my FFL obsession, since I heard "Shanghai" and immediately thought, "probably another Hellmouth -- after all, it's where the Chinese Slayer was from."
Yeah, why should it have to regroup? It's a single entity! And there were clearly Harbingers left, so how did Buffy just waltz in to rescue Spike? Hmm?
Okay, bed now. Chat later.
I would have to kill her because the way she says 'okay' bugs the shit out of me. She did it again tonight.
I thought I was the only one bothered by that! That kind of swallow-y "aow-kay" she does. Hate it hate it hate it.
I thought the ep was good at both ends, weak in the middle. The problem is I can't decide if I'm supposed to think Buffy's doing a good job or not. If I'm supposed to think that Buffy's a piss-poor Watcher, well then I like the last three eps much better, because so far she's been damn lucky her "training" hasn't gotten all of the Potentials killed.
Jessica, I'm stunned that my hated of her 'okay' isn't as widely known as my hated of Willow.
I can't remember you, or anyone ever mentioning it before. But it drives me absolutely batty every time she says the word, so I'm glad I'm not alone.
