Take your fingers off it, don't you dare touch it, you know it don't belong to you, to you...

I'm trying to think...I can't remember any specific mentions of time having gone by (i.e. "it's been four months since...). The first few episodes (Bargaining 1 and 2 and After Life) took less than three weeks, just lasting for a few days, as did the last few episodes (Entropy-Grave was a few days at the most by my reckoning...heh...reckoning...it's a fun word). I think the season took 9 months at the most.

I watched "Consequences" last night; great episode, and really the final word on the Willow/Xander relationship (love the brief scene of her crying in the bathroom). Apparently, Faith was originally meant to kill Wesley as she escaped from him and the CoW thugs; imagine how different things would have been if that had happened. There are also some "really interesting in retrospect" moments with Angel and Wes.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Yeah. It was a very long season to watch. Ok. Thanks.

What is even happening?

Did we ever get a sense of how much time was passing during Season 6? I know that a lot of the time, it seems like a season takes less than 9 months for the characters, but I can't recall if there was something specific in that season that was that way.
Older and Far Away was s6's Buffy Birthday episode. It was originally broadcast on 2/12/02. I can't remember a mention of Buffy's birthday in season 5. The Buffy birthday episodes were originally broadcast as follows:

S6 02/12/02 Older and Far Away
S5 02/06/01 Blood Ties
S4 01/25/00 A New Man
S3 01/19/99 Helpless
S2 01/19/98 Surprise (with Innocence on 01/20/98)

But I think, during season 6, at least a few episodes picked up right where the episode prior left off.

edited to include the s5 birthday episode

Up with the sun

I can't remember a mention of Buffy's birthday in season 5.

Was it in "Blood Ties"? I feel like S7 was the only time they skipped it entirely.

Lyra, I checked a synopsis, and you're right. I can't remember that part at all, but the synopsis began with something like "As Buffy and friends celebrate her birthday."

That episode aired 02/06/01.

I've been working on a song about the difference between analogy and metaphor.

I thought it was established somewhere that Buffy's birthday was in January?

Other time-points: Willow and Giles are said to go away for the summer after Willow's breakdown; S7 opens in September with Dawn's first day of school. "Conversations with Dead People" is in November and after that all the timing went to hell in some way I can no longer recall.

I think S6 was supposed to cover more-or-less the schoolyear, as is typical for BtVS seasons, but the jury's out on BtVS S7 and AtS S5.

Buffy quips that she's a Capricorn on the cusp of Aquarius, at some point.

In some episode-- I Robot, You Jane, maybe, Buffy's school records show on the screen, but the birthdate is different in two different shots. I *think* it's the year that is changed, but I'd have to find it.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

I remember this and I think the date changed completely. There are a bunch of screen shots for buffy at: [link]

Up with the sun

Did we know that Michelle Trachtenburg is starring in a movie about ice skating? I saw the trailer in the Disney store today and it looks ... well, Joan Cusack is in it, and Michelle has shiny shiny hair, so it's probably not *that* bad. But it's funny that MT is wholesoming it up again, after the character she played on Six Feet Under.

(From the buffy.nu article, it looks like this may be old news, but it was the first I heard of it.)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I saw the trailer. She skates with mathematics. Just like River would.
