Giles: I jump out of the circle, jump back in, and, and, shake my gourd. Buffy: Hey, I think I know this ritual. The ancient shamans were next called upon to do the Hokey-Pokey and to turn themselves around.

Art Crawl!!!

God. I watched Same Time Same Place this morning and I forgot how funny (paralyzed!Dawn), creepy and grotty (Gnarl eating bits of Willow-flesh) and touching it is. (I actually had tears at the end of it -- you know, Buffy lending Willow her strength.)

I don't remember reacting this strongly to it the first time 'round -- or when catching it in repeat.

Trust my rage

That Gnarl is so creepy. I always cringe. The way he moves is creepy, but also the stuff he says always gets to me. Yuck!

Yes! And then actually showing him stripping bits of skin and eating it.

Yech.

Art Crawl!!!

I'm very sad. I don't have the proper equipment to look at the dvd-rom that comes with the season 7 dvds.

Has anyone seen it? Do I need to be very jealous?

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

creepy and grotty (Gnarl eating bits of Willow-flesh)

This and the creepy clown smile Not!Cassie gives just before she turns inside out and goes poof! are the creepiest bits of S7 for me.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yeah. I still wonder how people who could write/film stuff like that could overlook the possibilities inherent in having the First Evil appear to all the Scoobies as Buffy to sow dissension in their ranks.

I so wanted to have someone gripe to Buffy about all her speechifying and have her reply "Speeches? What are you talking about? I haven't given a speech since the one I made to Dawn about the hardest thing in this world being to live in it."

This would have been so perfect. And it really has the ME sense of humor down.

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

Seeing the high post numbers on this thread is also sad, because it's the last Buffy thread, isn't it?

Nooooo!

Seriously, can't we discuss old episodes? 'cause I, for one, came to buffy late, watched it from both ends at once, and am still missing bits of the beginning.

I still wonder how people who could write/film stuff like that could overlook the possibilities inherent in having the First Evil appear to all the Scoobies as Buffy to sow dissension in their ranks.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that....

brillig

The paranoia level would have been wonderful, if the Scoobies had to keep poking Buffy to see if she was the First or not. Everytime she walked into the room, people would sidle up and nudge her or something. Or she could start knocking on tables first thing, just to prove it.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I wanted that to happen, anyway. I would have loved for everyone to need to touch at the start of each scene. I think it would have done wonders for the group dynamics.
