I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Got the following email from my mother (the nonBuffy viewer):

Subject: Sincere Condolences

Tonight Buffy the Vampire ends.

So sorry.

Made me sad and cracked me up (Buffy the Vampire - ha!).

Don't make me come down there!

Haha! And also, *sniff*

Delurking for last buffy ever note. And all sniffly now after reading just that first verse of Cindy's.

I've thought about what I might say about a thousand times if I ever got the nerve to post. But all I can say is. Buffy Rocks. Joss Rocks. Buffistas Rock.

I am in this odd good mood today. I don't know why - but I do. I trust in Joss. He is going to end it great and it is going to be wonderful and sad and...wonderful.

As you can tell, I am not so much with the eloquent, which is why I only lurk here.

I want to echo my thanks to all of you, I love you for all your great insights about all things buffy and non-buffy and I hate you because I never get anything done at work anymore.

And, for fun, one of my favorite Buffy moments ever comes from one of the not-so-greatest of the eps:

Willow: Malcolm, Moloch... whatever he's called. The one boy that's really liked me, and he's a demon robot. What does that say about me?

Buffy: It doesn't say anything about you.

Willow: I mean, I thought I was really falling...

Buffy: (interrupts) Hey, did you forget? The one boy I've had the hots for since I've moved here turned out to be a vampire.

Xander: Right, and the teacher I had a crush on? Giant praying mantis? (goofy smile)

Willow: That's true. (smiles)

Xander: Yeah, that's life on the Hellmouth.

Buffy: Let's face it: none of us are ever gonna have a happy, normal relationship.

Xander: We're doomed!

Willow: Yeah!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Plei broke me. Damn it.

I am almost eager for the end: I want to have the entire story, complete, so I can start over again from the beginning

See, every time I watch a re-run, all I want to do is warn them what's coming. Mostly Xander. It's heartbreaking. I can't stand to see Xander with 2 eyes.

Unless something really horrible happens tonight, Xander losing an eye may be the most horrific moment of the series for me.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Plei, you made me cry! (edit-- and Cindy, as well)

If you guys filk Puff the Magic Dragon, you'll hit most of my crying buttons.

I also kept yelling stop at my TV.

Nobody

I must say, I have noticed a lot of folks de-lurking in several threads today. And I have also noticed that they all seem to be interesting, smart, cool types.

Buffista Lurkers Rule!!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It is very nice that people are delurking. We love you too, nameless masses!

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

I must say, I have noticed a lot of folks de-lurking in several threads today. And I have also noticed that they all seem to be interesting, smart, cool types.

The Buffy thread on Table Talk had an energy creature delurk and attempt to derail the conversation. The delurkers here are much, much better.

By the way, do we have a "You Know You're a Buffista When..." list somewhere? 'Cause I have an addition: You know you're a Buffista when you get laid off, and in the midst of the shock and gut wrenching fear the thought that "well, for once I can get caught up on all the Buffista board messages!" occurs to you.

Of course, it's just my luck that I get laid off in time for the .... final.... episode of Buffy. It would have been so much nicer to have new episodes and much conversation to look forward to.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

The Buffy thread on Table Talk had an energy creature delurk and attempt to derail the conversation. The delurkers here are much, much better.

I saw that.

(I checked the Buffy thread at TT for the first time in months today.)

(And then I got nostalgia allergies for when I was a lurker.)
