I keep forgetting S9 exists. I watched the opener, felt a great tremor in the force on how unfamiliar the show was, then watched the last couple of eps. The epic end of Cancer Man. Have to drop a mountain on the man to finish him off. I shrieked in ecstasy when I saw him.
I'm probably one of the few admitted sickos who loved "En ami".
I wonder what would have happened, had they followed through with the Willow/Anya vibe they teased us with, rather than giving us Kennedy.
Ya mean aside from poor Xander having a massive anyurism?

Sexual jealousy would have made for a way better B-Plot to the First Evil's A-Plot, than speechifying did. There's a natural thematic tie-in. All the mixed emotions between Buffy, Spike, Faith, Wood, and Xander would have been the icing on the cake.
I'm not a big Tara fan, so my dislike of Kennedy had nothing to do with her. It did, however, have everything to do with her personality.
Not to mention his plan to go gay after dating the Ashanti!Demon.

And it all comes back around to the Potentials, ruining S7.
Y'all should get Freaks and Geeks. It's great stuff. And Sarah Hagen is fantastic as Millie - totally unlike Amanda, though.

Amanda completely threw me during her first couple of BtVS episodes, because she wasn't Millie.
I loved Freaks and Geeks with all my heart. I feel the need to go to the Minearverse and apologize for watching Wonderfalls, because I am suddenly feeling like the KoD for good TV.
I also have the XF in my queue. How far in the series is it worth to watch before it jumps the shark?
I'd have to say S5 or S6. There were still some good episodes after that point, but the series as a whole took a serious downturn.

I personally found that whole bit pretty silly. Especially since they'd painted him as a sympathetic (if no less evil) villain previously, then suddenly turned around and decided "Nope, he's just unrepentently evil with a capital E." You started to understand where he was coming from, even if you didn't agree with it. Then suddenly he was just a cackling villain from a B-Movie.
Though the thing that pissed me off most about the finale was Kirsch suddenly deciding to be a good guy and help Mulder and Scully. WTF? I loved the slow change over for Skinner and came to really like the character, but I totally didn't buy it for Kirsch, especially in the 11th hour like that. It's like CC wanted the only villain to be Cancer Man to emphasize how EVIL he was. Feh.
