I've already had to pre-emptively warn 2 people who started a conversation with me by saying "Last Buffy tonight, huh?" Whereupon I jumped in and said "If you've read anything about it, PLEASE DON'T TELL ME! I'd rather be surprised!"
And they don't seem to get it. But I'm still spoiler-free.
oh, wait, you mean happy in a water leaking from my eyes, sniffly nosed kind of way, right?
Is there any other kind?
I have a spoily answer to that, so I'm biting my tongue.
On the other paw, you're old. married. with kids. You've probably forgotten :)
Washington Post says goodbye. Lead story on their Website, and lead story in the Style section of the hard copy.
One paragraph in the middle has one fairly substantial spoiler, and two other "spoilers" that won't surprise anyone who has watched the last few eps. (Skip the paragraph that begins, "Except for the occasional coffin, nothing is nailed down in the Buffyverse.")
I've forgotten everything. It's how I face myself in the mirror each morning.
She calls Spike Buffy's second love.
Pfft.
Mildly spoily -- David Bianculli Buffy article
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. Tonight at 8, Fox.
"Buffy" is dead, again. Long live Buffy.
It starts...
I won't spoil any surprises about tonight's final episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," the influential and endlessly entertaining series that spent five seasons on WB and the last two on UPN. The series is too good, and the fans too fervent, to risk diminishing the impact of the former or incurring the wrath of the latter.
but then it does actually talk about some of the early stuff from Chosen. So absolute spoiler-phobes should avoid it.
That said, he says,
I'll say only that I've seen the future of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" - tonight's final episode, at least - and I loved it.
And I say, what David said.
I've forgotten everything. It's how I face myself in the mirror each morning.
Ahh.. that explains the name tag you're wearing.
Yes, I think the pencil is meant to refer to Angel's artistic side. I have to admit that it took me awhile to get that one.
I actually thought I was okay with Buffy ending. But all day long I've gotten sniffly thinking about it. This really is the end of an era for me. This is the first show I ever became totally addicted to, and I have no idea how I'm going to handle the withdrawal. Damn.

CNN.com has a fairly lengthy article on “Buffy” including mention of the on-line fan community, including the Bronze (and BronzeBeta):
The birth of "Buffy" came along with the rise of the Internet as a medium for the masses, and "Buffy" fans have been active in cyberspace. The Bronze, a message board named after an all-ages club on the show, was a hot spot on the official site when the show was on the WB network. When the show moved to UPN, the new network opted not to host a message board, so The Bronze Beta, an independent message board, was born. On Usenet, a system of Internet message boards, alt.tv.buffy-v-slayer is among the busiest groups.
my eyes, my eyes
