All right, no one's killing folk today, on account of our very tight schedule.

I don't know... they had their own word for vampire, but it's possible that all such creatures were formerly-human refugees.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

To assuage my Wonderfalls sorrow, I channel flipped that night with the vague hope I'd catch something MEverse on the WB. Eh la! It was S7 Buff, "Bring On The Night." Feh. It didn't get any better. The ubervamp was scary still, but it was the first of Buffy's speeches, RedHerring!Giles (No Touchy!), plus the arrival of the potentials - three things that went very wrong. And ultimately, there was all the "Huh?" when ubervamps were dispatched like so many lemmings.

I'm thinking S7 is going to be like S5 for me. I've got the DVDs (for 5) but have almost no desire to watch them. With S7 I'll probably go back and watch "Conversations With Dead People," "Storyteller," "Selfless" and "Chosen" but that may be it.

On the plus side for that evening, I did get to watch Buffy and Angel back to back. That was nice. And the Angel was "Guise to Guise" (Wesley pretending to be Angel, meets Virginia, the Tish Magev) - really good Jane episode, with great lines by the faux-Tish.

In hindsight, I assume that the First Evil was supercharging its initial übervamp just as it did with Caleb to make it more than a match for Buffy. The line that it was in "remission" after its plans via the übervamp failed would tend to lend credence to this, as I can't quite see the grief from its death alone being enough to keep the First from pressing the fight.

Also, the Slayers had a very sharp magically unbluntable weapon with which to cut off the vamps' heads in the finale, and presumably their experience playing keepaway with the last bag of oreos while crammed 20 to a room in the Summers house helped immensely with passing it effectively from wielder to wielder.

All is well that ends in pizza.

That and they did the "Slayer Powers—Activate!" spell, Matt.

I saw no evidence of Buffy or Faith getting enhanced, or any of the other Slayers being called with more than the standard amount of power. And you know Faith would have said something if she'd felt any stronger than usual.

The evil is this way?

Well, the Slayers did have some advantages. Like, they had the high ground. Plus, they knew the writer.
