This is where we talk about Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No spoilers though?if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it. This thread is NO LONGER NAFDA. Please don't discuss current Angel events here.

I can see the first two. And the "perfect happiness" bit makes a nice substitute for Melanie.
But Angel isn't Ashley. Angel eventually found the guts to leave Buffy.
Buffy = Rhett, Spike = Belle Watling, Angel = Atlanta.
How about Spike = Scarlett. Selfish, willful, cruel when he wants to be. Meets his match in Buffy/Rhett.
Oh, I agree with Cindy, Buffy is so much Scarlett. Scarlett was all about the mission, preserve Tara. Buffy is all about the mission, (preserve Dawn) it does make her a tad selfish at times.
Spike definitely is Rhett. Rhett's version of love-making was definitely not of the hearts and flower variety and verged on rape in at least one scene. Only, Spike didn't have the balls to leave Buffy the way Rhett did.
Angel fits the Ashley mold. Ashley wanted his feminine version of perfection in the form of Melanie. If leaving her would have been for her own good, he would have done it, just like Angel did leave for Buffy's sake.

Hee. Who's Sherman?

Yes and no. BtVS Angel is Ashley. A:ts Angel isn't.

I can just see Buffy now: "Tomarrah is anothah day..."
"Tomarrah is anothah day..."
She even had the dress for it in "Halloween!" With the brown wig. Hee.
ETA: x-posty goodness and SLUUUUUUUT...
Please keep Buffy away from accents. Do we really need a repeat of the faux-whatever-it-was from when they all turned into their Halloween costumes?
The major reason I can't quite agree with Scarlett = Buffy is that Scarlett's major defining characteristic is her total lack of introspection. Buffy, as much as her self-righteousness frustrates me at times, knows when she's being self-righteous, selfish, ignoring her friends, etc, and it tears her up inside.
Scarlett = S5 Spike is a better mapping, IMO. (S6 Spike = married-to-Scarlett!Rhett, pretty much exactly.)
