Classical behavior of the Ph.D. in Physics. They're so used to handling things that work (more-or-less) predictably, they feel people should be the same. And are very startled and grumpy when they don't.
Heh. Someone close to me is involved with an economist, who really doesn't seem to get that some things can't be distilled down to a concrete figure.
t Nods.
Yup, Dad almost majored in economics, but settled on electrical engineering and eventually, physics.
My dad flunked out of electrical engineering school. You know, if you're always at the coffeehouse, this happens. But he got the late-bloomer thing.
Mmmm, coffeehouses. Didn't Buffy like coffeehouses?

In Minnesota it's Winter, wasn't that a nice day? and road construction.
Oh, tell me. I really need to change the tag, 'cause we're having winter and road construction at the same time and my sense of time is all screwed up now.
There. New tagline just for DCJ, 'cause the Vikings couldn't even beat the Bears, neener-neener.

We used to have what we called "Coffee Aversion Therapy" in the cafeteria in one of the main buildings on campus. We would take over a couple of big round tables and sit for hours drinking huge cups of coffee with milk and sugar (coffee milkshake), solving the problems of the world, fooling ourselves that we were doing work. The cast of characters would occasionally change around as people sometimes wandered off to class or other stuff. Good times. I actually did decent work that year. I wonder when I did it?
Next, Gellar's scheduled to star in MGM's Romantic Comedy, a satire on several recent romantic comedies that revolves around a lovelorn guy who tries to win a girl's heart using movie-like tactics.
Hmmm, Scary Movie divided by Meg Ryan's ouevre. I bet Sarah throws in some Meg-ish manerisms.
