I thought he might use it as a disciplinary tool. Keep it up on the wall, often tell stories about what's been killed with it, then if the kid starts getting too obnoxious, just make a few remarks about Daddy going and getting the scythe. It'd be effective, and help create a kid into horror.
See, I was thinking Axcalibur would get a place of honor in Joss's underground lair. But that's just because I think it would be really cool if Joss had an underground lair.
