I usually responded with something like "Well, you don't seem to know how to take no for an answer, which does not bode well."
Snerk. There's a guy in my office I keep wanting to say that to. I mean, his reply to "socializing one-on-one with you makes me uncomfortable, and I don't think that's fixable" was "I think it is fixable! Here are some suggestions." Uh, no, see, you're increasing the uncomfortable there. Not helping!
(Obligatory disclaimer: I've done plenty of Stupid Relationship Things in my life too, God knows.)
I don't know that I get the 'not ready' part of the Xander and Buffy equation
Uh - yeah. I actually meant to write
she wasn't sure she was interested in a relationship with him - in fact was pretty clear that she WASN'T interested.
but I was so busy making it parallel with what I'd written about Spike that I messed up. Mea culpa and all that. I went back and edited it.

I think that's the reason Miss Manners says not to give reasons. People argue with reasons. Pretty hard to argue with a stone wall that just keeps saying, "No, that's not possible."
People argue with reasons.
Yes. Exactly. It was reasons that allowed me lie to myself and think that I could argue my way into a relationship.

exactly. but my little answer seemed to shut them up. On the rare occasions that i was actually asked on a date, that is. I seem to have the "hang out a lot and fall into a relationship" thing. I don't know if I've ever had a real date.
Although she doesn't flash a lot of skin or have any hot love scenes in American Wedding
Oh. Well. I guess I can wait for the video, then.
:)
Woah -- that picture is PALE!
"Cute interview w/ Alysson Hannigan"-that's kinda redundant, you can just say "interview w/ Alysson Hannigan", anything w/ her is gonna be cute.
Gleebo, I think I see where you're coming from w/ the B/X thing; it just feels like the old thing where the girl says "you're too nice to be my boyfriend, I want the dangerous bad boy looking guy over there"...not that I'm bitter about women, but...
My favourite 'ship that they should have done more w/ was Xander-Willow...I know they wanted to keep Willow gay in S7, but I'd have preferred to see them hook up in the wake of Anya/Xander's breakup than for them to bring in a new character (Kennedy) and force us to like her. There's actually a fanfic Season Seven out there that among other things brings Xander and Willow together. It's nowhere near as well-written as the actual show, but there are some interesting ideas.
pvtonline.com, look for "Buffy Alternate Season Seven."
