Don't belong. Dangerous, like you. Can't be controlled. Can't be trusted. Everyone could just go on without me and not have to worry. People could be what they wanted to be. Could be with the people they wanted. Live simple. No secrets.

Buffy 4: Grr. Arrgh.

This is where we talk about Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No spoilers though?if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it. This thread is NO LONGER NAFDA. Please don't discuss current Angel events here.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Also, it was interesting that we didn't watch-and-post back then. Everyone waited until the West Coasties finished before comments were posted about the episode.

Lord, Lord. When did we become so rude?

Edith Wharton is turning over in her grave right now.

However, I'll bet the Atl. Canadians ALWAYS taunted.

While the Phoenix was down, I was reading old TT Buffy threads - and actually came across the point where I started lurking. It was in November of 2000 - right after Beer Bad. Before you go "You've been lurking a way long time freako," I stopped around March of 2001 (or whenever TT went all non-free) and didn't start lurking at the Phoenix until January of this year. (Found it from Joss' Firefly post link and started reading the FAQ and was like - hey - I remember these folks.)

Point of that is - it was REALLY fun to go back and read those threads and see people talking about how they did/didn't want Willow to go evil - and did/didn't want to see Spike go good.

'Til we dance away...

Hey, I've been lurking since the end of '99 and I'm not a freako!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've been lurking since the end of '99 and I'm not a freako!

But how can we be sure?

Hey, I've been lurking since the end of '99 and I'm not a freako!

My ploy worked! (Bwahahaha) I knew I'd draw out somebody with that one. Hey Sassy. Careful. I delurked less than a month ago - and look at me. All addicted and greeting people. It's a slippery slope.

Nobody

of course part of me was thinking - "just kick his ass already." That would be the part of me that has trouble doing the fiction/reality separation thing...

Oh yeah. I caught minutes of either one of the I Know What You Did Last Summer films, or the Scream sequel SMG was in, and remember sitting on my couch, with my tummy in knots, thinking, "Kick his ass Buffy; don't just scream and run like a wussy."

And then he started asking about their birth control methods....

Were I her, I'd have been so tempted to reply "We watch you, Howard, and it puts us off sex entirely."

"You got twelve, and they got twelve. The old ladies are just as good as you are." -Dr. Einstein

Did we all see the article by Emily Nussbaum in the Sunday NYTimes? "Sick of Buffy Cultists? You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet."

If not, a couple of great quotes:

"Just because our show has been staked through the heart...doesn't mean that our fanhood has ended with it. At last we can start living in the past."

"Now everything is spoiled and we can settle in and enjoy-treat the story as one big satisfying narrative. Few shows reward rewatching as much as Buffy, a series which might appear campy at first sight, but over time reveals as many layers as Tony Soprano's Oedipal complex."

I have the first six seasons now on DVD and I've decided to watch them all in order from the start.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

ted, Emily is or was a Buffista. So, yeah, great article. Most appreciated.

MAL: Well my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

"I have the first six seasons now on DVD and I've decided to watch them all in order from the start."

I watched my seasons 1-4 DVDs last week and for a while was all plump with Buffy satisfaction but now I have to wait for the release of Seasons 5, 6, 7 and I'm starting to jones. Need more Buffy!

And about the de-lurking. Yeah, I've been lurking for quite awhile. I just de-lurk, make a comment and then leave again to have people say, "Who the hell was that?" and I'm not a freako either. I think.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Not that there's anything wrong with being a freako. Not around these parts.
