Also, a portal is closed thanks to someone's self-sacrifice
Oh, point. OK. I can stand by my theory now!
But really, did the Amulet of Beautiful Redemptive Death *have* to be so drag-queeny? Even RuPaul wouldn't have worn it.
For a second there victor, I thought you're parallel drawn between this episode and S2 was going to be...
Season Two: Buffy has to banish Angel to Hell to stop the world from being sucked into Hell/ Buffy banishes Angel back to Los Angeles
But that's just because even while living here, LA = Hell jokes are funny.
2, 6, 3, 1, 4, 7, 5.
In that order.
Yay for some season 6 love.
3, 2, 4, 1, 5, 7, 6 for me.
I didn't mention it on the Movie thread, but Jim was partially right about the Wild Bunch nod in the middle, just after the Last Scooby Moment.
Wait, no. I think it was the shot of Buffy practically flying across the collapsing rooftops that was my favorite.
I turned to DH and said, "Crouching Vampire, Hidden Slayer."
Let's see, my ranking of the seasons:
2, 3, 4, 7, 5, 1, 6.
Off the top of my head. Ask me tomorrow, and I might give you a different answer.
But really, did the Amulet of Beautiful Redemptive Death *have* to be so drag-queeny?
Well, as a set-up for "I look like Elizabeth Taylor" line? Sure, it had to be that gaudy.
2, 6, 3, 1, 4, 7, 5.
Hmmmm. I'll go 3, 2, 4, 6, 1, 7, 5
Also liked the subtle (and not so subtle) call backs to past season finales.
Joss did a fucking amazing amazing job in pulling in so many strands into just 44 minutes. I would say that he managed to allude to almost all the emotional high points in the series even if it was just a little throwaway like the "fat grandchildren" line which hits on Amends and on Passion. The callback to the end of The Harvest with the core four, then the split to the core-er three, and Giles peeling off. Gracious, so many grace notes.
My ranking:
6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, and six.
Then 3, 2, 4, 1, and 5.
Someone said something about a 7th season. What happened in that one?
