Anya: It's lovely! I wish it was mine! Oh like you weren't all thinking the same thing. Giles: I'm fairly certain I wasn't.

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

Me? I loved it. Maybe if I thought harder about it, there might be a few things I could bring up to say, "Well, but this part blah blah blah" or "I wish they'd done ha ha ha," but you know what? Not gonna do it.

This was a satisfying ending for me. (But let's face it, after the XF debaucle, 43 minutes of Giles picking his nose would have been satisfying. Okay, maybe not, but you get my point.) I laughed a lot, I cried, I was literally on the edge of my seat several times.

It's been a really great two years. If only I'd gotten on the Buffytrain sooner!

And can I have seasons 4-7 on DVD, like, now??

I need more wine...

My sistah.

Well, Buffy sharing the power really isn't about feminism. It's about the hero's journey, where the final stage is the return with the elixir, which the hero then shares with everyone.

Well

  • I think empowerment is at the root of feminism, especially Jossian feminism

  • She gave them a choice in whether or not to join the battle. Everyone gets the strength; nobody gets the burden of "this is your fault burden/responsibility

  • I was mentioning wine. I think that's an important point.

Plei - buttery? Now I'm coming up all corn on the cob. After my Justine revelation in spoilers today (*shaky fist at Laura*) - I think... yeah. More wine.

Another social casualty...

Did the camera work during the Core Four power square remind anyone else of the camera work in "Restless"?

I'm still digesting everything. I don't feel gutted like I did after "The Gift". Which I guess is a good thing, since I have to work tomorrow, but I wanted to be gutted.

Poor Anya. Poor Amanda. Poor Dead Jonathan (old news, but still).

And poor glowy Spike.

And Huzzah for Buffy. May her cookie dough continue to bake.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

He wasn't lying, he was storytelling. The moment when Andrew decided to tell Xander that Anya died heroically was the only thing in the episode that made me tear up.

Oh yeah, I cried at that part. I like the storytelling explanation; I just couldn't remember if Anya had actually saved his life.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Yes happy that RL is in love, sad that she is too busy and upset that Anya died.

And hi! I'm a recent delurker but have followed for a LONG time now.

Curious about what the naysayers have to say, but if they don't want to subject themselves to the attention (certianly not tonight, for instance), I respect that.

Ah-ha! I was wondering why she'd given them the choice of whether or not to take her power, since clearly all the other potentials all over the world didn't have a choice; it didn't even occur to me that the choice was about whether or not to join her in battle.

Like I was saying... more wine?

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Hi. I take full responsibility for posting by fdrunken Buffistas in New England. It can't be helped. It's a sickness.

VW Bug is not drunk. She swears it.

I can't vouch for anyone else.
