re: the spike thing, I have this memory of JM saying that they filmed it both ways -- him getting his soul and him getting his chip removed. Is this a false memory implanted by the monks or did anyone else read this interview?

smonster - the interview I saw didn't say that. I don't think they did film two endings, either. What I read was that JM filmed from Seeing Red through Grave (all but the last scene) without knowing what Spike was seeking, and he didn't want to know it. I think they were going to tell him (JM) and he wanted to act without knowing. That's why I lay some of the blame on acting, direction and writing. The "bitch" line was a bit too much, and "make me what I was" was clunky. Even if James refused to know the answer to the soul/chip puzzle, the director should also have tempered it some (not to take away all mystery, just to take away the need to fanwank to get to where they actually did want to take us). They're all getting spankings from me.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Even taking the attempted rape/redemption/etc. out of it, I think it's pretty lame to have Buffy fall for two vampires. I mean Angel was a special case. Spike? NSM.

I like it. I like the tie to her powers being rooted in darkness. I had hoped this year's origin of the slayer angle would touch on that a bit, but apparently it was more important to see the SiTs eat cereal and cookies.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

She staked a vamp with this. IJS.

The truly truly spoilerphobic vergy on freakiness might want to avoid the auction b/c there are items listed as being from ep 22, season 7. They probably aren't anything significant, I'm just trying to be a good Buffista and look out for my pristine buddies.

This is quite possibly what I was thinking of. Pesky monks.

FWIW, I think it was sloppy misdirection too. I'm agreeing with you.

The thing that disturbs me most about the auction, is that it doesn't appear to be benefitting a charity. So, the money is just going to Fox? Huh. I'd be more likely to bid on something if I knew the money was going to something worthy.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

$3600.00 for a Buffy outfit!?!?!?!

Wow. THe shit people will pay an assload for.

That doesn't seem to bother the people w/ the deep pockets, rayne. Makes me a little bitter, too. "Okay, we're going to wring the last tiny bits of money from your show, and keep them all to ourselves."

Or something.

Also, I'd be more likely to bid if purchasing 3 issues of Fray wasn't a serious financial investment at this point.

I looked at the bidding histiry on some of the higher priced items, and it looks like most of them sre brand new, never done eBay before, or a very brief history and no high ticket items. Hope! they don't get screwed.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

However he IS different--for me he's lost his edge of danger that made him, well, sexy. Now I find myself looking at him and thinking "what a handsome man." Where I used to think "Gimme some of that."

Yep. When he started killing people this season? Yowza.

Excuse me, I think I need to see a therapist now.

It's just like DB -- Angelus: SMOKING HOT. Angel: just a hairloaf.
