Up with the sun

brenda, I think that discussion starts here.

ETA: Not much in the way of conclusions as far as I can tell, though -- we kind of got to a "oh well, we'll ride it out" place and then switched to LotR thread talk. But it is sort of funny to see us all excited about poster 400 registering.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Well, I do remember discussing whether famous buffistas should be marked as such -- you know, special font or colors or something -- and then deciding that was a bad idea, due to the I-who-am-no-better-than-you concept, with which I agree. I suppose asking people to go pseudy is sort of the inversion of the famous buffista marking argument, so it's probably not the best idea.

Although the funniest thing was when Joss showed up in Comics and hardly anybody noticed all day. It was like, Yep, that too is part of being a buffista -- occasionally being not-noticed.

Did I just totally overstep my bounds in Minearverse? It was making me crazy to see it get all guilty and weird. But I feel like maybe that wasn't my place.

Validate me or tell me I'm out of line. I need some feedback.

ita any chance you can make an executive decision and delete the posts in minearverse where people are talking about selling downloads for profit? Cause that could get the board shutdown; I think the argument for doing so is as strong as that for deleting Christian Dollar Store spam. IF we want as a board to take the risk and bravely defy giant evil networks, cool. But I don't wnat some random newbie (or for that matter a long term celeb poster) to make that decision for us.

I know the mighty man with the scythe semi-endorsed it. But don't know how much pull he has with the entertainment division of W&H lawyers, if consequences come down.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

It was not someone trying to sell things.

He or she was trying (poorly worded) to get good copies of the aired episodes for his or her own personal viewing and offering to pay for the materials used.

Trust my rage

I consider myself a newbie here because I finally registered a little over a month ago. (I had heard the WF buzz and found the board somehow, although I don't remember how exactly.) I decided to finally register because this board appeared to be a place for intelligent and funny conversations about more than just Spike is hot or FUCK FOX and I wanted to participate. I would hate to see the character of this board change as that is what drew me here in the first place. OTOH, I don't think I can really complain about new people since I'm basically one myself. I guess I have no real opinion on closing registration because I haven't been here that long - I'm just trying to say that, even to a new person, the character of this board is obviously unique and I would be sad if that changed.
