Also, Sean, KristIn. I know, I know, she doesn't seem to care, but she should! It's a name! It's hallowed!

Not to mention it's another way to help keep her seperate from Kristen (aside from the last initial). I shall go back and edit.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Sigh. Anyone remember Homer's eighteen-wheeler?

Yes, Holli, I do. I remember the Booksluts and Lounge Lizards fondly. I also sent you a postcard at camp--or a letter, I forget. K. Weber wasn't at all sure I wasn't an axe-murderer when I asked for the address.

And one of my claims to fame on TT Buffy mark 1 was running off Holli's little sister. I was mean.

Sophie, you've had some great ideas, thanks. The new maroooon (sorry, I just love the sound of the word. Also? Macaroon. bassoon. stopping) NAFDA buttons are very nice. And tina, you're a real mensch. I'd offer to help but my online hours are erratic. However, if that's not a problem, e me and we'll see what I can do. I don't code, I feel like a freeloader.

Artless question: Do you participate in many online communities?

No. B.org was all new to me.

eta: none, this is still the only one. People keep saying, "there are other communities," and I've looked dulsitorily at others but haven't found any that don't have weird threads and restrictions on the # of posts per 15 minute period.

THat's an excellent idea.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The registration confirmation e-mail is not HTML. Because it didn't work on HostRocket, IIRC. As a result, there were problems with wrapping URLs. As opposed to rapping Earls -- what's not to love? Anyhoo, extra links should be considered in that context.

Java -- I think what surprised you isn't actually anything new or different. So I don't know if it should be put in our documentation. It's just sort of a thing.

Hmmm.... You don't need the email to be HTML. Just put the links to the FAQ and Etiquette each on their own line (with an explanation above the links), and they should be short enough to not cause wrapping problems.

Yeah, that'll work.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I dislike the social capital concept. IMO it's a snotty concept used as an excuse/reason to be rude. I think a pecking order exists and social capital is just a euphamistic way of saying that. Why not just say it?

I think that's a good point, Java.

I don't see there's anything euphemistic about social capital. Calling it a pecking order (or a gazebo) won't change a thing.
