Let's deathmatch it in Press!
Dammit!! Two people got there first. Rassenfrassen quick comeback type people.
Humph.
Preferential Voting.
There, I said it. What?
Actually, I really like the name we have now because it captures the deathmatch flava. Someone waaaaay upthread mentioned "One Quote to Rule Them All" which I quite like. Although, it might be too hobbit-y and I don't want to offend the anti-Hobbit faction.
I don't want to offend the anti-Hobbit faction.
And yet no one considered the feelings of the anti-Thunderdome contingent.
If Spazzed is really that big a thing, then my fallback position is anything about eating babies. You know, nice middle of the road, PC Baby eating.
And yet no one considered the feelings of the anti-Thunderdome contingent.
They don't need another hero.
, The culture here has always been to err on the side of not offending anyone. No one (to my knowledge) ever said they were offended by "bitches", while several have said they are offended by "spazzed". It's just a thread title -- it's not worth offending someone over it -- let's just substitute "pants".I agree that we should not use a word that is offensive in a thread title.
I reserve the right to be offended by elements of his work, and appreciate a community that understands I'm not just making it up. Because I'm not. There are enough UnAmericans here that find it rude, and I'd extend the same grace to anyone offended by something acceptedly rude, but that didn't ping my radar. For exactly the reasons that ita just said.

Quotable Buffy 3: Your OTQ May Vary
"Who said that? ME. Who? ME!"
These are both amusing. And now we have new options even.
Good thing this isn't a board about Mark Twain....
...And good thing Vampires aren't real. ;)
But seriously - Are you suggesting that Buffy contains something akin to the problematic race language of Huckleberry Finn?
I guess I hadn't seen it like that.
But...isn't comparing words now universally accepted as degreding to a word with a secondary regional meaning a wee bit of an overstatement of the situation?
I dunno.
Also - To clarify, I'm not suggesting that we limit discussion to words within the Buffy lexicon, but rather that the Buffy lexicon be included - in it's entirety - in the lexicon of this place.
And yes, it's wonderful when a bunch of literate, compassionate, caring indivuduals come together and mutually agree. I'm always just a wee bit uneasy when a bunch of literate, compassionate, caring indivuduals come together and mutually agree to censor one another's dialogue.
Anyway, I'm new, and was just trying to suggest a kooky alternative that used the show as a baseline.
Oh well - y'all know this place better than I, that's for sure.
Anyway, since we're going that way, I guess I should mention that outside the context of Buffy, I do personally find the use of the word 'Bitches' offensive.
They don't need another hero.
But if you keep rubbing it in their faces, how can they ever find a life beyond?
There are quotes from the thread itself that could work. These are all Elena's summaries of votes:
Creepy Warren wins
The mummy hand lives!
Owww moves on.
Everyone loves a baby-eating Troll.
