A fellow makes himself conspicuous when he throws soft-boiled eggs at the electric fan.

Jon and ita have it right. Buffistas is one thing, LJ another. Here we're just voting on whether to let the corpus project have our archived posts. On LJ, if you have an LJ, you can friend the corpus LJ and then they can read your posts. But that part hasn't been set up yet.

Still hoping to post a formal proposal today. Wish me luck that the giant work alligators don't get me. First day back in the office after eight working days away ... I have already answered email from three continents. Arrgh.

Has any thought been given to closing the Good Riddance thread and replacing it with an Election thread? There's going to be a lot of election talk this year and I don't know if it should be in Natter or if it deserves its own thread. I should point out that don't care either way.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't think all the Secret Santa gifts have been received, so the thread still has a purpose.

The last riddance thread stayed open until February the second.

Agreed. I should have said that I didn't mean close the 2003 thread right now, but when it is closed...

We don't have to trade off on threads anymore, in theory, now that we're on a dedicated box.

However, it doesn't make me any less anti-proliferation at heart.

Okie dokie. Like I said, doesn't matter to me. I'll just skip most of the election banter in natter.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We're getting near the end of the Music thread. For Music 2, I'd like to suggest either Put Another Nickel In or Put Another Nickel in (the Nickelodeon). In honor of this old Teresa Brewer song.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

We've said no Politics thread before -- ergo, I think, no election thread.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Back when we were deciding on the title for Music 1, there was support for "Give me something to sing about".
