Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

What if we just retitle the thread "Lord of the Rings: Dude, Where's my Precious?" and leave the slug as is? I'm old, my memory's going, humor me--was most of the FotR natter on WX?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

was most of the FotR natter on WX?

IIRC, we had the FotR thread on WX, and when we moved over here the timing just happened to be about right to start up TTT discussion. So this is the first time we've really had to think about thread closing/renaming/whatev.

Thanks for all the fish.

I don't think that we should just rename the thread (any thread, really). Was there a particular reason why we don't just let the current thread run its course?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

There is precedent for renaming a thread. Bitchy Fic went general, and is now Buffista Fic, for example.

I think it's just to keep the subject/thread agreement.

Thanks for all the fish.

Yeah, I know. And I never thought that was particularly fair to the PPO folk.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I'm in favor, though I don't care too much, of starting a new thread. I am strongly in favor of "Well, I'm back" for either new title or new thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'd prefer a new thread because otherwise the current beautiful title disappears forever.

Oh, good point.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I think it's also a pretty safe bet that we'd be needing a new thread in pretty short order, as I'm fairly certain that we'll talk enough after the rest of us have seen it to finish off this one. If that is or could influence anyone's opinion on the new vs. renaming issue.
