Uh, are we gonna fight, or is there just gonna be a monster sarcasm rally?

Up with the sun

To me, the question isn't so much if we can edit the filk to accomodate new policies -- I know we can. It's if we want it to be the first place we send people curious about this site's policies and rules. I know I feel the shortened version is clearer and easier to use and understand. On an everyday basis, it's what we quote from when we're discussing our policies.

To give the filk its due, it may present a clearer picture of our very particular culture, and I think that's important. But I think this is a situation where clarity should trump cleverness. The filk, of course, will still be a click away.

Our wings are not tired.

I like the filk version. It is so very Buffista like.

On the moving stuff in PF, Natter for sure, I don't care about the other threads.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Although it pains me greatly to say it, as I was one of the instigators of the filk and absolutely love it to pieces, I agree with Lyra. I think the filk is important because it is so typical of our culture, but not everyone will get through it.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I think Natter, Bitches, COMM and the Buffy and Angel threads should be moved to our member folder, and then we should delete the old Diaspora folder. If Zoe wants a blog, she's got her own webspagce.

Another social casualty...

I also think we should move the show threads. I would hate to crash in the next few weeks (knock on wood) and not have our show threads protected.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Thanks, ita, for getting things set up at PF.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Weighing in on PF. My preference is to move everything we now have at PF into the protected thread, including our name. If this involves copying the present folders, can we do that, and exclude the newest, non-"us" threads?

I hate to see us lose show threads, old natter-- or anything, really-- because of this unfortunate circumstance. I don't care if those superfluous threads are left in place, marooned, folder-less...hanging in space like a dead moon, blasted and...

oh. sorry.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I'd say move everything over except for the new threads just created in the last few days.

Oh, I don't know. Sports & Fitness could be interesting. Is chain smoking a sport?

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

OK, that Sports & Fitness thread is cracking me up. I have gone past the head-crushy realm of annoyance and anger and entered into a sort of a Twilight Zone.

Oh dearie.

How hard is moving threads on PF? 'Cause if someone wants to make me a host, I can start now. Moving all of ours, then deleting the old folder. (Burn it to the ground! Salt the earth!)
