Xander: I still don't get why we came here to get info about a killer snot monster. Giles: Because it's a killer snot monster from outer space. I did not say that.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

After:

ANYA: I'm not condescending. I'm embracing the principle on which this forum was founded. Even though a dictatorship would be substantially easier to run.

Add:

XANDER: You're not helping. What she means to say is that our rules are few and simple, and when there's enforcing to be done, it's done by board members known as Big Stompy Feet. They are wise, they are considerate, they are smart, and they have smiting capability, so if they ask you to do something, play nice and cooperate.

After:

WILLOW: (hissing) No flames, remember?

Add:

ANYA: But what if someone happens to get turned into a demon and repeatedly violates site ettiquette?

WILLOW: Consistent demon-like behavior may earn a warning from the Stompy Feet. If you don't listen to the warning, you'll be suspended for two months. And if you come back unreformed, you'll be banned. It's not pretty, and we don't like to do it, but we figure it's better than getting all black-eyed and scary.

XANDER: Oh, and one more thing? We don't need septic tank cleaners, generic prescriptions, or, and I cannot stress this enough, penis enhancements. So please don't spam us.

Does that cover what's missing?

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

waves sheepishly.

Dear Uncle-Aunt Stompiefoot,

Please could I change my name? To Fay?

Thank you.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Done!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Dana - Thanks for those. I'll look them over ASAP.

Wow!

twirls in front of mirror.

I feel oddly like I've had a haircut. Thank you!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I prefer the non-filk etiquette page also.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

PF update: I've created a Buffista member folder. We can control access to it. All the stompies (save Liese, because I don't know her PF ID) have been made hosts.

There's nothing in there now. Lance said he could move the other stuff over today -- we shall see.

Or we can start from scratch.

I'd say move everything over except for the new threads just created in the last few days.

I would definitely move Diaspora Natter in there. I have no strong feeling either way for the other threads.

Up with the sun

To me, the question isn't so much if we can edit the filk to accomodate new policies -- I know we can. It's if we want it to be the first place we send people curious about this site's policies and rules. I know I feel the shortened version is clearer and easier to use and understand. On an everyday basis, it's what we quote from when we're discussing our policies.

To give the filk its due, it may present a clearer picture of our very particular culture, and I think that's important. But I think this is a situation where clarity should trump cleverness. The filk, of course, will still be a click away.
