I look more rad than Lutheranism

And I was just about to come back in here and post what Perkins said.

There's NO WAY to plan a May F2F if we can't open the thread until April.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

The vote said, "We should close the F2F Planning thread until the next F2F goes into being planned and then reopen it to posts at that time."

If we're planning the next "national" F2F then there's no need to vote; we can just reopen it. If we're not, then... y'know... folks shouldn't have voted to close it.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

10. We should close the F2F Planning thread until the next F2F goes into being planned and then reopen it to posts at that time.

YES: 73 *
NO: 26
NO PREFERENCE: 23

If people are ready to start planning, it should open.

We are. Hence Perkins making the request.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I've just opened it.

Ann, that's a ferret.

So when do we start planning? I have no objection to reopening the thread if we start planning now -- and it's never too early to start discussing where.

The F2F thread didn't even hit post 1000 until January, and 1500 until March.

(It's now at 7378.)

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

We started planning both previous F2Fs the previous October, hence it's time to reopen. (edit - and I'm wrong. We started planning the last F2F in September.)

Also, last year, we didn't have the hotel set in place until way late in the process. It'd be nice to avoid that this time around.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

We started location scouting around this time last year, because location arrangements were made in early spring, IIRC.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Natter 17=4^2 - cos(p): Could this be mathier, Nilly?

I vote for this thread title.

Planning's underway now, that's the point -- people are asking about picking dates and places so they can put in for vacation time already.
