I don't know about you guys, but I've had it with super-strong little women who aren't me.

Bureaucracy 2: Like Sartre, Only Longer

A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

Swouncing

I agree with the slug changes, on both accounts.

I just wanted to thank all the folks who hammered out the ballot, put it together, counted, and are going to do all the archiving/changing/consolodating. Y'all rock the party.

Thanks, kat, for phrasing my thoughts for me.

OK, now for the Calendar issues I saw mentioned earlier (the one thread I catch-up on skimlessly is Bureaucracy. I didn't post here earlier this week because I didn't have any access - the whole university network was down for nearly 3 days):

However, and to the point, I'm sorry if my birthday/anniversary/ascension announcements caused problems to the board, and I'm happy to post/avoid posting/change posting in whatever way seems best for the board.

I have a list of the e-mails of all the Buffistas who sent their dates to me, I'm always saying that I'm not going to announce anything unless it's sent to me, so the only dates that are included there are of people who specifically asked to be, and I'm very glad to read that at least some people believe I have a secret lair.

For the record, the only times I post Calendar announcements in "Beep Me" are when I'm supposed to be gone for a relatively substantial amount of time (longer than 2-3 weekend days).

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

The way you're doing it now seems good to this buckaroo, Nilly.

[Edit: and notice she in no way denies the secret lair]

DX, THANK YOU! I cannot express enough gratitude for all of your countage.

I'm with Jon and Heather. Change the slug for the spoiler thread because that's always been Angel inclusive.

Close Previously on Buffy to make it easier for archival searches (otherwise it will look like there was a never a Previously on Buffy) and open a Previously on Angel.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't think there's any problem with the way you're currently announcing, Nilly -- no one's beefed about that. I'm just leery of a change without getting re-approval from folks.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I miss everyone's birthday 'cause I never see your posts in Natter, Nill. I'd personally like to see them in Beep Me, maybe like once a week, Sunday night or something. "Your Weekly Nilly Update."

By the way, am I on the calendar, Nilly?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I think that's the best way to do it, too.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

otherwise it will look like there was a never a Previously on Buffy

Hm, I was previously in the "just change the slug" camp, but this argument works for Spoilers as well.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

(otherwise it will look like there was a never a Previously on Buffy)

Note that the thread title is Previously 1: The Who Whating How With Huh?" and the description is Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run. And keep it spoiler-free so the Un-Americans can play too.

It's only the slug that mentions Buffy.

But I still think we should start fresh, since effectively the existing thread has always only been about Buffy.

Thanks for the hard work DX.

And R.I.P. Spoilage Lite: Angel. I, for one, will miss you. Rest In Peace.

So it seems will a lot of people. It was a very close vote. There were two questions that only achieved plurality, 6 (Farscape/Due South/Smallville) and 11 (Angel Spoilers Lite).
