Well, Cindy, if you don't mind me dictating what your feelings should be :-): don't be outraged either. It's not worth it. I mean, really, once established that [XXX] is a troll, isn't it a waste of energy to even think about what they say for a minute? Energy that could be better spent in positive, happy, life-affirming things like, say, porn?

Our wings are not tired.

I haven't read the PF posts or her site (frankly my time is too precious) so I can’t comment on those specifically. However, I am distraught (and feeling very mama bearish) that she continues to cause discomfort to my friends. {{{Buffistas}}} May we put this behind us quickly. With the shows kicking into high gear (and knocking my socks off with excellentitude) I would so much rather spend time in the show threads.

I just put the parentheses in there because I know Cindy likes them (and I want her to smile and feel all loved).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

We can ban people from posting on WX

A little. Not a lot. To be 100% locked, we'd have to set up a join code. And PF -- we might not be able to at all.

Up with the sun

I think she sincerely believes we are somehow connected with her family:

This makes me feel very sad. But we gave her every chance to explain what she's thinking, to ask questions, etc. She chose not to, and I understand that, whatever her issues are, they are not an excuse.

Still makes me feel bad, though.

Visilurking

Sheesh, yesterday people were talking about warning Allyson for answering questions about her feelings.

(Cindy, this post is not directed at you, you are just a convenient place holder.)

FTR, that was me, and I withdrew it. But I want to make clear that she was clearly asking for it here, here, here, here, and especially here.

However, the asking for it was hypothetical and I don't feel that Allyson is someone who should be on the road to suspension or banning. And she apologized for her choice of words. So I withdrew the request.

Since I'm on the topic, there is something that has been bothering me a lot since that conversation. This has been rankling me for a couple of days, and I don't want to keep it inside. So I'm going to say it.

I was pretty much told that I am a newbie who shouldn't be pushing the board into becoming what it wasn't intended to be. And I was told that I stomp on the feelings of long-term posters. For the record, I know I'm new, and I know that stuff has been in place long before I was here. I thought I was free to express opinions that are contrary to opinions help by "oldtimers". I thought that this is what most of the "oldtimers" want us newbies to do. I am really hurt that people see me as a feelings-stomper and a disrespectful newbie. But I know my place now.

Someone let me know when I've been here long enough to have an opinion, and express it in a civil manner. Because that's all I've ever done.

Speaking quite only for myself, Wolfram, your civil manner to me feels dismissive of what came before. I'm not speaking to your intent, since you say that's not so, but it just feels "Okay. I'm here now. Let's fix things."

Which has the side effect that even when I agree with you, I just want to walk away from the whole thing.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Oh, don't worry about me, Trudy. I don't take what trolls say about me personally.

I just hope you get to be someone good like Boba Fete (original) or Greebo. Nobody wants to be Jabba.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I'm with ita.

Oh good. I was afraid it was going to get boring around here now that Zoegate is winding down.

Wolfram, I think I've already said everything I need to say to you. I have no desire to put everyone else through a rehash. If you somehow missed it the first time around, I summed up my feelings here: bitterchick "Bureaucracy 2: Like Sartre, Only Longer" Apr 15, 2003 1:59:32 am EDT
