Thanks for all the fish.

Aren't we going to combine the NAFDA quotables threads? And if so, why does this have to wait 'til after the death matches? Can't we just shut Angel & Firefly NAFDA quotables and change the title of the Buffy thread to "Quotable ME"?

I would get spoiled for Angel if I was trying to run the deathmatches while people were quoting from new episodes of Angel (we have no idea, as of yet, when we'll be getting Angel in relation to the US). Assuming that the deathmatches are still going on when new episodes of Angel start (which they might). From a technical standpoint it would be much more difficult for me to run the matches if there was a lot of non-match conversation/quoting going on.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

there's a lot of TV talk here, and even if I *can* discuss shows elsewhere, I like to discuss them here also as this is where the cogent analysis and good snark reside.

I'm with you on that, Raquel.

We've got some time, it looks like, before we can feel comfortable adding another new thread, especially one that could conceivably generate pretty high volume. This is a good thing. Let's try to use this time to explore some of the options, speculate about the likely pitfalls, and see where that discussion takes us.

move out and draw fire

Over in Lightbulbs, proposal officially withdrawn.

Just throwing it out there, but what about a dedicated watch-and-post thread?

I will think more about re-org suggestions that don't actually involve adding new threads. Really, I will.

But once the DVDs become available, it'd be nice for people who get them right away to be able to quote freely, without bumping up against those of us who'll be hoping to get them from Santa.

This would still be a problem with just a Firefly quotables thread, and leaving them seperate would not alleviate this problem either.

I would get spoiled for Angel if I was trying to run the deathmatches while people were quoting from new episodes of Angel

This is a decent point, but as Elena herself points out, we don't know how the Canadians will get Angel, in comparisson to the US.

But more importantly, Elena has convincing techinical reasons to wiat until the deathmatch is over, as extraneous talk will impede the process.

But people who hadn't gotten them yet would just have to keep out of the Firefly quotables, not the Angel ones.

Since thread creation is off the plate, I have a proposal for thread consolidation.

I propose that we begin some minor housekeeping. What gets consolidated is open to debate, but I would like to have an official discussion followed by a vote.

Here is what I am initially proposing:

1. The Buffista Corp thread gets closed. Bless its Cafe Press heart.

2. At some point, post-death match that the Buffy quotable thread be closed.

3. The Previously thread will be repurposed for Angel.

4. Due South, Smallville and perhaps Farscape will be consolidated in some way.

Any seconds?

I'll second that. I think those are fairly painless matters but it'll get us started the right direction.

ETA - I'm assuming those would all be separately voted, right? Just for clarification.

Seconded.

I'll second the idea, Kat, but I'm concerned about taking this to lightbulbs in the normal fashion, as I think this particular subject needs to be discussed as long as it needs to be discussed, and locking it into a four day discussion might be too short.

Brenda, I'd envisage that each is a yes/no vote and they stand alone, but they live on the same ballot. If that makes sense.

Sean, I think a four day discussion, at least with the easy ones and with an eye towards hashing out others that may never make it to ballot is possibly the only way to discuss. If we let ourselves talk it forever, we're going to be screwed because we probably won't agree because we will have strong feelings about certain threads. (In my head, I keep thinking, NO! NOT SMALLVILLE. . .)
