Up with the sun

Never mind, I think I spoke too soon.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Putting the Angel Quotables in a general ME Quotables thread will make that thread spoilery, which will make it pretty much a de facto Angel Quotables thread. I don't have a problem with that, but UnAmericans might. I dunno, are a lot of quotes added long after the show's original airing?

Or we can disregard the whole thing, because now I look like a crazy person. :)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The two threads I don't see any reason for keeping around are Spoilage Light: Buffy and Buffista Corp. (Since they're already dead, closing/archiving them won't help our traffic problem, so this is purely a housekeeping note.)

Quotable Firefly hasn't seen a post since April, but I can see wanting to keep it around because of the DVD release. I do think Cindy's idea of one big happy Quotable thread (after the Buffy quote deathmatching is over) is a good one.

Nobody

I see this point, but if it's not a Spoiler thread, we have at least two definitions of spoiler running around the board.

That's a valid point, considering the brouhaha that's cropped up over our definitions of spoilers in the recent past.

Oh. I didn't want to change the definition of spoiler, and figured since FF NAFDA would keep its NAFDA designation, that wasn't really at issue. The UK-aired episodes are NAFDA spoilers, but since this would be a UK thread, not a NAFDA thread I didn't see the issue. I mean non-NAFDA threads do consider some things spoilers as well. That's why people white font in UnAmerican and Natter, etc.

I just figured we could call it "Firefly UK" and note in the slug that it's for the full run, including the episodes that haven't aired in NAFDA land. I think calling it "FF spoilers" has the potential for confusion now, and problems down the line.

hip deep in pie

But where would we put Firefly movie spoilers?

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I (as a Farscape devotee) would not object to Farscape being combined with something else to create a sort of categorized TV thread (sci-fi, maybe) so that some of our threads become more general

Sean speaks for me here. I do think it would be feasible to consolidate the Smallville thread, Farscape, and Due South without much trauma. The Farscape thread is very low volume anyway, especially since the reruns have cut back to one per week and they're in the fourth season. Nobody seems to know what will happen when they hit the end, and if the show does come back it won't be at least for a year, I'm thinking.

Ann, that's a ferret.

And, much as I hate to mention it, do we need the Sang Sacre thread anymore? Nobody's posted there in more than a month.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Yeah, I agree with this.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Or, at least, we could possibly host Sang Sacre somewhere else.

The problem is, of course, that consolidating or eliminating low use threads doesn't do much for our technical problem. Though it may help a little, in that it may eliminate the occasional single SQL connection here or there.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I want LotR to keep its own thread because I don't want to get spoiled for movies I intend to get around to watching eventually (which is why I've never been in the movies thread) just to find the LotR discussion.
