What about a Buffyverse Alumni TV thread?
I kind of like this too, except it may not cohere much as a thread/community/discussion with Gilmore Girls and Tru Calling and whatever sitcom NB gets.
Anya ,'Showtime'
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

I can believe that there'll be an upswing of Angel discussion due to the reruns, but Buffy's been in reruns for quite a while. There'll be the occasional bounce, but not so much that I'd expect high-volume cross-conversation.
And, really, Buffy reruns and Angel reruns aren't totally disparate topics.
Currently, we have a thread for past Buffy eps, and a thread for current Buffy eps. Since there are no more current eps, the Previously thread is, IMO, the "main" Buffy thread whether we make it official or not.
Creating separate threads for each show is risky because any of them could get canceled
Right. My general thinking is that we have a home for talk of many sorts, until and unless there is a breakout show that everyone is talking about, drowning the rest of the thread. That breakout is due for a proposal to get its own thread. (Actually, what worries me most is the idea that we could have 2-3 threads for every TV show we watch: main, spoilers, unamerican, previously. I am sort of thinking we'll need to re-jigger our thinking on spoilers in future, for mere convenience's sake, and require most/all spoilers for most/all shows in a single thread. But that's a bridge we'll burn when we get to it.)
Also, housekeeping on dead shows is a good idea.
Concur. I'm generally for a TV thread, although it's also one of those that was specifically mentioned as Do Not Open Till September. Which, hey, is 10 days away, and I should remind you all now that my birthday is the 9th.
I'd like to hear opinions on a TV thread, because my thinking on the matter is mostly shallow and "Yeah, okay".

No, not totally.
Honestly, it's not something that I would see as some major huge stumbling block, I was just sort of thinking out loud about what it would mean for us to shut down the Buffy thread.

Same here. I don't watch much TV and don't go into Natter, so I may be underestimating the impact this will have on people who do watch TV and currently post about it in Natter.
BUT... if we made "previously" the sole buffy thread; cut "buffy spoilage light"; cut the main buffy thread; and added a general TV thread, we're actually still down one.
What about Quotable? Does that stay open or do we close?
Also, previously has been pretty dead as of late, since most of the discussion of Buffy can take place in Buffy now. So Angel previouslies wouldn't be a bad thing for that thread.
I like the idea of the alumni thread, but general TV makes more sense.
What about Quotable? Does that stay open or do we close?
I would keep it open for now. The deathmatches might take a looooong time.
If at the end of the year Buffy Quotable is dead like a big dead thing, we might think about rolling it into Quotable Angel and (if necessary) adding a Quotable Wonder Falls. But that's for later.
What about Quotable? Does that stay open or do we close?
Right now it's in the middle of deathmatches. After that's over...more deathmatches? It's a good question.
TV doesn't get discussed much in Natter, other than one-offs ("hey, I saw this show last night...") and, randomly, Amazing Race.
What about Quotable? Does that stay open or do we close?
If I were the queen of the world, I'd close it down after the deathmatches are done. (Hey, we could close it with the Ultimate Buffy Quote!)
