God. You just reminded me that I can sing "Jingle Bells" in Latin.
The horror.
I took three years of Latin, and didn't know that. Of course, my Latin teacher was a man who named himself Phat Daddy and who would frequently decide teaching Latin was boring, so he'd do something else.
Every thread title that made me open dictionaries and learn a new thing is great by me. t /never learned Latine, but keep wishing she had
I never learned Latin, but I do own a copy of Winnie Ille Pooh.
I took a year of Latin, and liked it quite a bit. Admittedly the one year of Latin we had at our high school was as much cultural as linguistic - I don't think we even got out of the present tense - but I thought it was a really fun language, with the cases and all. Plus, pretty.
Plus, pretty.
Hence, all the lovers.
Count me in for Natter 15: Beware the Ides of Natter
Count me in for Ides. And liking Latin. But Natter 17, I believe, was going to be something on the 'this could be mathier' theme, in honour of Nilly.
I won't be around today when the topic turns over, but beg you all to remember the Ides when it does!
