So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Also, aren't we just a few short days away from the Minear thread? We need a name, and also need to know if we can use "Casting Spoilers" to talk about Wonder Falls.

A-yup.

I propose "Tim Minear is a Fluffy Bunny: Wonder Falls 1"

OOOO!

Or: Wonder Falls 1, Body Count 0.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I addressed that issue. The FAQ entries were not subject to the same kind of scrutiny and debate as consensus decisions, and should not be considered grandfathered. They reflect board culture, they don't codify it.

OTOH, this particular piece of the FAQ is old as methusalah. Apart from it's FAQ statu: Is a policy that has existed from the beginning grandfathterable?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Jon, I'm not contesting your statement above in any way.

But I think it's kind of funny that it was you who summarized the policy as well when we preparing to move over here. (I linked to the post in Lightbulb, but it's at WX and can't be reached. Or couldn't last time I tried.) Just as it was Hec who twice brought up the idea that we needed to address summer spoilers. Continuity yay!

(And in the WX post at least, you were indeed summarizing common practice and related discussion, not making up the policy on your own.)

You're missing the message, that this point of spoiler policy, namely, summertime casting news about regular cast members, wasn't addressed in the policy. It's a no-go.

hip deep in pie

I think that the spoiler line has been moving, living thing.

You're missing the point that the policy was the standard that was deviated from. Sometimes those deviations were objected to, sometimes they weren't.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Or: Wonder Falls 1, Body Count 0.

Yes! Although frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if the count changed.

We could update it as it happened, and it would be really, really funny.

That's not clear at all. It isn't clear that summertime cast announcements were considered spoilers when the slug for the thread and the FAQ for this board were written. It isn't clear, because Jon wrote them and he's stated they weren't in his mind.

Tell me, are you going to also address that the FF spoiler thread is being used against it's policy, and that it's slug was changed despite the grandfather clause prohibition on changing things always in effect? Because if there's one thing that's always been in effect, it's that people were not prohibited from talking about episodes that had already aired in the US, in a spoiler thread - and yet, the community made this adaptation most recently.
