It does leave a bunch of people homeless, doesn't it?
Well, yes. I mean, I haven't been posting in FF for a while so I'm sure I won't be missed, but I do dislike being forced to stop reading a thread.
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

I'm with Rayne, et al.
If UKers discuss in the main FF thread, that leaves some of us without Firefly for 4-5 months. It seems like the best/easiest solution is to move them to Spoilers (I don't understand if there's a stigma attached to having to post in spoilers. If so, I understand that would change opinions). This solution has the added bonus of minimum discussion sub-grouping (post August).
I daresay Firefly is in a unique situation, so any solution is going to be hard to pin down and feel right for everyone.
It's seeming to me like the spoiler thread is the way to go. Since the eps are coming up so soon, it won't be a strange situation for long, and it does avoid having the main thread getting weird for several months.
If we do decide to go with the spoilers idea, I'd suggest a post in that thread announcing the details of what can and cannot be discussed and when, along with an announcement in Press and the main FF thread with links to that post. That way people who haven't seen all three can find their place without worrying about being spoiled by what came before.
Le Nubian, In Firefly:
BTW, the description for the thread is "spoilers for the current Firefly season. Anything goes."
That needs to be changed if there are limitations on discussion. I'm not trying to be difficult here, but I started reading this thread with one understanding, and it seems to me this understanding is being changed.
Apparently repeated explainations and imploring for this poster to check here and that we are not admins in Firefly spoilers have not been enough.
Could someone else address Le Nubian's issues as aparently I am inadequitely expressing that discussing the complaint in the thread with non-admins isn't going to change things.
In any way, I am apparently inadequite to the task of it all and will now go back to talking about the episode and leave the admining to those whom this person might acheive satisfaction regarding their concerns.
Edit: Spelling of Nubian
Daniel, you read my posts, correct? You know I don't read this thread often and I wished the discussion had occured in the Firefly spoiler thread. No need to post like I'm some impossible child.
----------
Okay, I don't read this thread. In fact, the only threads I read in this forum (I simply cannot keep up with all threads and fora that sprouted up after TT's lockdown) are the Firefly spoiler thread & The Buffy (sniff)/Angel spoiler thread.
Let me say that I wish some of this discussion (or at least links to it earlier on) had appeared in the Firefly spoiler thread. It was a surprise to me that a decision had seemingly been made and that there was no alert to it in the thread.
Second, I'm vehemently opposed to limits on discussions in spoilers threads. I just don't understand it and it seems antithetical to the purpose of spoiler threads.
Third, however...I understand the request now and I'm not sure this is the way to settle the issue, but if folks need to take up residence in the spoiler thread, so be it.
I won't fight it if this decision is the one made. I don't think it is the best option, but I'm not going spoil UK posters on U.S. eps.
This post was an x-post that I started before Daniel invited Le Nube over here.
I understood the issues best by reading Cindy's post Cindy "Bureaucracy 2: Like Sartre, Only Longer" Jul 22, 2003 2:25:46 am PDT, though I'm still not sure what the best solution would be.
Jon B. did good by linking to this discussion in the spoilers thread when it started.
Oh man. well, maybe I missed that then. Apologies.
I'm sorry, Les, that was an x-post. I didn't mean to chide you. I didn't think you were reading this thread. I meant to prop Jon for doing what he could to avoid the problem.
