No other candidate is asking the hard questions, like "Did geophysicists assassinate Jim Henson?" or "Why is there hydrogen in America's water supply?" --defective yeti

This post was an x-post that I started before Daniel invited Le Nube over here.

I understood the issues best by reading Cindy's post Cindy "Bureaucracy 2: Like Sartre, Only Longer" Jul 22, 2003 2:25:46 am PDT, though I'm still not sure what the best solution would be.

Jon B. did good by linking to this discussion in the spoilers thread when it started.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Oh man. well, maybe I missed that then. Apologies.

I'm sorry, Les, that was an x-post. I didn't mean to chide you. I didn't think you were reading this thread. I meant to prop Jon for doing what he could to avoid the problem.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Le Nubian, as you seemed to ignore every one of my posts imploring you to come and read this thread, I reserve the right to ask for someone else to explain it to you when I give up.

My post about you is the best I can do at 3 am local time. If you are offended by it, I apologize.

I explained as best I could, you chose to keep protesting, I felt it my duty to ask for assistance.

Edit: Fixing spelling of Nubien

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Daniel,

What difference did it make for me to read the thread? I made the same post here as I did on the Firefly Spoilers thread. Luckily your peers on the thread were good communicators and helped me understand the relevant issues.

There are superceding concerns that have not been addressed and others on the spoiler thread were able to sum up the issue a whole lot better and concisely - without complaint - than you were able to do.

I understand you feel frustrated, perhaps you can better understand how I felt not really following the reasons for changing the function of the thread.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Daniel,

so was the apology in the Firefly spoilers thread sincere, or is the sarcastic one above the one I should believe?

Have a good rest.

All is well that ends in pizza.

The one in the thread is sincere. The one above was my snarky response to your dig at me.

I am deleting the one above.

Nobody

Suggestion to Stompy Feet

If we're not going to give the UK it's own FF thread, then perhaps the slugs of the NAFDA Firefly and Firefly Spoilers thread should be changed to reflect where UK posters are supposed to post on the unaired-in-the-US episodes, and should temporarily reflect the restriction in the Spoilers thread, on discussing episodes the UK posters have not yet seen.

Also, perhaps some sort of asteriskical ought to be a word attention getter in the Spoiler policy section of the FAQ should reference some note about our temporary policy change due to these special circumstances, and said note should link to modified slugs of both threads.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

DCJ, there's no "e" in Nubian.
