You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I don't think so. (a) it's a show quote (b) we're snarky (c) most folks lurk before posting so they'd know what we're about. Also, other thread titles aren't so crabby.

True, but (a) Not everyone will recognise it off the bat, nor will all those who recognise it know why we chose it and that it's not directed at, say, them (b) I don't think 'snarky' is the first word that comes to mind concerning this proposed title, I mean we're considering it because essentially we were sufficiently pissed off at HR to discuss, albeit reject, legal action - that's beyond snarky to me (c) they'll see the thread title before they even decide whether to lurk, let alone post.

It may not be a big deal, really, it just makes me a bit uneasy as a thread title.

Our wings are not tired.

Is it too belligerent for people who are unfamiliar with the backstory?

We don't need no stinking context.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I don't know, compared to "Out. For. A. Walk. Bitches." or "Mountie Fetishists Anon," the title really doesn't seem that off-putting to me. Won't most new arrivals to the site be hitting the show threads first and then moving into Natter as they feel more comfortable with site culture anyway?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Natter 13: Maybe it's not such a good idea for you to piss us off.

Maybe just shaving a couple of words?

Natter 13: Maybe it's not such a good idea to piss us off.

For my own amusement:

Natter 13: Piss us off? Maybe not such a good idea.

The problem for me is that it's warning people not to piss us off. It has a personal element the ones you mentioned lack. And if someone turns up at this site, one of the first things they'll see, before they dive into any thread, will be the title of the Natter thread (which given its level of activity will be close to the top of the home page most of the time). That is, I'm not concerned about the way it makes the Natter thread look, I'm concerned about the way it makes the site look - to me, a bit unfriendly.

Natter 13: Maybe it's not such a good idea to piss us off.

I do like this better. More free-floating, less directed.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Natter 13: Maybe it's not such a good idea for you to piss us off.

This gets my vote in whatever paraphrase is closest to the original (which I can't recall just now).

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

I'm pro the long-form as well.

As a recent delurker - I don't think it's too off-putting. If you are familiar with Buffy, you'll recognize it.

I don't think most new folks just jump right into Natter - I haven't - you have to get comfy in other threads first. So - chances are they will get used to being here separate from seeing that thread title and thinking you all are evil witches who will tie them up and flay them. (And therein lies their first mistake....)

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I don't think it's any more intimidating than Bitches, as a thread title. Though, it begs for trolls to test the title.

I like the title, though, and don't think we should have to give any thought to anyone but ourselves and our culture when making these decisions.

Ann, that's a ferret.

It's also a title for Natter. Which means it'll be around for, what, 13 minutes?

Though we could add something in the header about how it relates to someone who did piss us off lately.
