This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

Well Big Brother 4 is starting up soon.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Where do you think limitations should be set, Jesse? I think the same thing, grateful as I am for the LotR thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't see any simple justification for, say, an Alias thread and not a TAR thread, or a Coupling thread, or whatever. They all seem out of scope to me, despite what's been grandfathered in.

Shows by ex-ME people, different, though. But how "by" is "by"? Writes for? Show runs? Created?

joking aside, I think we are once again at the question of what is a critical mass. I would hate to see a ton of ballots about this, but maybe one ballot with many of the thread options.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Where do you think limitations should be set, Jesse?

I'm not sure. I mean, I know what I'd do, but I don't know what would work best for the group.

Shows by ex-ME people, different, though. But how "by" is "by"? Writes for? Show runs? Created?

And how "ex" is "ex"? I mean, Allyson made a list of folks and their current shows that had names I didn't recognize on it.

I get what ita is saying, but if we get to the point where 70 people are posting about Alias and 10 are posting in one of the NonME shows that already has a thread, how does that make sense?

70 people are posting about Alias

Where? In Natter?

I say we cross that bridge when we come to it. At which point, as much as I enjoy posting about Alias, I'd probably still not be pro.

Okay, so let's hear it, then! Really, toss it out and let's make salad.

maybe one ballot with many of the thread options.

I was thinking the same thing, which is why I was wondering if I could make a proposal with three parts to it: Closing down Buffy Spoilage Light, adding Wonder Falls thread (if it gets picked up?), and adding Graduates.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

And how "ex" is "ex"? I mean, Allyson made a list of folks and their current shows that had names I didn't recognize on it.

That's why I'd think one thread for ME stuff is plenty, as Plei suggested. If his new one turns out to be the new Firefly, then we could put the other ME project stuff elsewhere if needed. But I'd rather wait until that happens before creating extra new threads.

Can Alias find a home somewhere here? Maybe in Smallville? (I don't hang out there so I don't really know the atmosphere.) It doesn't seem to have the kind of discussion levels that would require a whole new thread.

I'm a fan of letting things happen more or less organically. LOTR got its thread because it quickly became clear that it was going to dominate Natter and needed it's own home. If other shows have the kind of lively discussion going on that would merit that, we can address that when it arises, rather than throwing up new threads just in case.

Similarly, I don't think we're near ready to discuss Who We Are When There's No Buffy. We'll find that out in the weeks and months following the show's end, but we'll never settle it before. Cleaning up some of the redundant Buffy threads is probably a good idea, and adding the new Tim one seems reasonable, but I'd rather avoid changing much more at this stage.

The whole Alias thing was just an example, but I can go with the wait and see what is needed approach.

I think a three part ballot as suggested could work very nicely, but I'd certainly wait until after the finale to even propose it.
