Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

I think it's been early December the last couple of times.

Hey, ita, have we got votes pointing to Nilly?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yep.

Awesome. I'll have the ballot up shortly.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Should we add an opening date for GB and GR, or just leave that up to our normal whims? I was thinking it might be nice to just have a set start date (Dec. 1st?), too.

Proposal: To set an opening date of December 1st and a closing deadline of March 31st for the Goodbye and Good Riddance Thread. As of the last day of February, any ungifted Santa or Slacker Santa giftees will have the option to throw their names back into the pool to be gifted by other volunteers, which will be a way for people who found themselves unable to gift for one reason or another to bow out gracefully and for everyone to get closure on the year without the thread going on for months.

(This is a tentative revision based on what you all think. If you think it was better as is, I will lose the opening date addition before voting.)

I think that's great, Kristin. I'm in the process of getting the ballot up right now, so I'll just include that. Since that's when we've been opening it, I think it's good to codify.

The Press announcement is up:

Voting Has Begun!

And with that, I close this thread.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Opening this thread to discuss Tom Scola's proposal:

Since, Heroes is now officially canceled,

I propose we a) Close the Heroes thread; b) set a date for closing the Lost thread.

So Heroes is pretty much dead now. NBC has made some vague noises about a TV movie, but even if it happens, it won't be until 2011, and cast members are already picking up other gigs.

Really not much point in keeping the thread open at this point. If people still want to discuss, they can always use Boxed Set.

Similarly, Lost is almost over. There will probably be lots to talk about after the finale, but even still, the thread should be closed at some point in the future.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'd just ask the Heroes and Lost fans to figure out how much post-show time they need to kick it around (a month?) and then shut them down. But I'd like to hear from the fans of those shows to set that date.
