I like the idea. I'd hope a semi lurker/lurker would offer opionion. I'd also suggest which threads folks read. Maybe the masthead have some basics to cover, as a suggestion for ice breaker? Where ya from (as vague as you want to be), what brought you here, what threads you browse.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I heard something on the radio today about a "smart bra", but had to leave for work.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Underpinnings aside, I like

Delurking 1 -- Because we don't always check our e-mail

much better than "do you really support us?". Really Support sounds a bit too much like calling the lurkers out, when it can be rough for some people to come say hello. We Don't Always Check feels more like we're saying "we'd like to meet you, but we don't want you to get lost among the crazy."

Umm, the crazy of the posting speed. Not of us. Maybe.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm with amych. I love the idea but I feel like some of the (funny) suggestions might come across as scolding or putting someone on the spot if they're nervous about delurking.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Delurking 1 - We support you in thread

But the e-mail one is good too.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Delurking 1 - We support you in thread

Love!

Lurkers don't have to delurk. Lurking is a fine and acceptable use of this board!

But if they're lurking out of intimidation or somesuch, come out and play!

am I the only one who imagines the delurking process like a bird of prey uncloaking? No clue why my brain keeps picturing that when I see the word "delurk". Clearly it is full of the nerd.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

o_a, you're not the only one!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

am I the only one who imagines the delurking process like a bird of prey uncloaking?

This makes me think they should delurk in spoiler font.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Looks like Goodbye and Good Riddance may make it open all year due to epic slacking.

Crap, you guys have been waiting for me? Sorry!
