I'm just, uh, just feeling kinda... truthsome right now. And, uh... life's just too damn short for ifs and maybes.

Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

I suppose it doesn't hurt to have it out there right from go, though.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I think in the past, spoiler policies have sometimes been hashed out at the start of a thread, no?

oops, sorry (backs away from can of worms, hiding opener behind my back)

DAMN YOU, VORTEX!

Nah, no harm, no foul. I don't think anyone who is waiting to vote just went "Wait, no spoilers? Well FUCK THAT!"

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And seriously, if the policy is "white font them," I support heading off potential discussion!

Our wings are not tired.

I can't subscribe to everything I might want to, and the narrow-topic low-volume threads are the easiest to let go of first.

Time constraints cause me to fall hopelessly behind in Bitches & Natter while I have some hope of keeping up in the low volume threads.

I skipped all but the first and last page here.

But this is a case where we do have a group of people who are already part of the community who want to have the discussion.

This means a lot to me. There are a significant number of my fellow Buffistas that would enjoy the thread very much. That gets my vote. I will pop in on occasion as I do in other narrow threads just to see what is happening. Not a gamer so it won't be my home thread.

Games have spoilers? Who knew? (so without knowledge of this world)

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

And I often feel left out because so many people know each other in real life, so I feel a little bit (I doubt this is true) that bitches is one group of friends that know each other, and natter is another, and I am just an interloper.

I often feel this way too, Sophia. For me, I think that's partly a function of not living in a place where there are few or no other Buffistas, and of my general feeling of outside looking in.

(backs away from can of worms, hiding opener behind my back)

I kind of love this.

I am part of the Great Firefly Explosion, but I never stayed exclusively in Firefly.

The willy-nilly approach is the main thing that kept me from participating in boards before I stumbled into this gin joint. On the boards in which anyone can start a thread, I felt like there were a million doors to open, and I never was sure what was behind him. It was like being in a Monty Python skit. (I didn't come here for an argument...)

Some of the changes in Boxed Set have come about because of the sudden proliferation of sf-ish television shows. We want to talk about them somewhere, but the only options I see for the spoiler-phobes is to open a new thread for every new genre show or have a sea of white font somewhere. A new thread for each show strikes me as unworkable, particularly considering that the discussion of some of these shows has only been the occasional "Does New Amsterdam still suck?" "Yes." I really would like to understand what the people who don't like Boxed Set in its current evolution think would be the ideal.

All of this has nothing to do with a gaming thread, however. I certainly understand the urge to be able to talk about something you love with other Buffistas, and I see your argument that it doesn't fit in well with other discussions. I am unlikely to ever enter such a thread, though, and I'd hate to think it meant I'd see less of people like Sean.

I am part of the Great Firefly Explosion

Seriously? I feel like you've been around for way longer than that!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I am unlikely to ever enter such a thread, though, and I'd hate to think it meant I'd see less of people like Sean.

On the flip side, I gotta say the possibility that we'll see more of people like Raq, CaBil, billytea around these parts is swaying me the other way a bit.

Still don't know where I fall on this. I've been nodding along all morning at almost everything.

I am part of the Great Firefly Explosion

Huh. Did not know that.

See, I don't think a gaming thread would draw Sean away from other threads. Dude's a blabber-mouth. Won't shut up ever.
