Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Hate to shun a new cool-wanna-be

Not having a dedicated Firefly thread isn't shunning a new cool-wanna-be; particuarly if Firefly were included in the header for the Minearverse thread (which only makes sense), it would still be findable.

To be fair, though, this is not the only place on the Internets to talk about Firefly.

True. However, although I may be a tad biased, I think it's probably one of the sanest places on the internet to talk about Firefly. eta: Heh, xposty goodness!

And, it's also not like the absence of a thread means it doesn't get discussed.

True. But it can make it harder to find.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If a fervent Firefly fan stumbled upon us and needed to discuss Firefly and couldn't work out where...I don't know. Seems majorly unlikely, and not something to base a thread decision on. I mean, that's catering for the unspoken preference of someone who doesn't file it under sci-fi or a Tim work, and is looking to us to fill a fandom hole.

Bless--I loved the series, loved the movie, but I think that this putative newbie, well, they don't exist.

Well, they may or may not be important, but I think omnis just showed that they do exist (that is, that not long ago he was one of them). And, there are several non-newbies arguing for keeping the thread, so it's not just newbies vs. seasoned Buffistas.

No, what I mean is that making decisions on the part of newbies must be weighed against things like how prevalent they may be. Non-newbie reasons are separate.

Hmm. Why did I think that omnis came here by knowing people? ND, perhaps.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

If someone came here to talk about Firefly, they're screwed because no one's talking about Firefly, not because the thread doesn't exist. Yes, they should have to slog through all the "rough" because that's where b.org exists, not in theory.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

As we did for Smallville when the traffic got too sparse.

Smallville was part of the Big Boxed Set Roll Up of 0-whenever.

Not closed through normal or natural means. No, no. It became part of FRANKENTHREAD!

Ahem.

Just because I'm doublepluspedantic.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Including the recent spate of meta-discussion, it took since September 4 for the current thread to rack up 100 posts. FYI.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Yes indeed, KT & ND kept saying "these are good people, we think you would fit in". I didn't link to b.org because of the Firefly.

eta: tho, I must say, in the beginning, when I was very much overwhelmed with how many posts there are and trying to keep up on them all, Firefly was a light in the dark. I knew the topic, and it was easy to keep up on, and it was on topic.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

we're closing the Veronica Mars thread....at some point.

One month after the DVDs came out: Nov. 23.
