Congratulations to the class of 1999. You all proved more or less adequate.

Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I can do it.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

What happens if item 1 passes and none of the item 2 options gets more than 50% of the vote? runoff?

Works for me, but I don't know if there's a procedure.

Is this proposed thread just for evening dramas, or are daytime soaps included?

I think that soaps are a different animal than dramas. Plus, I've never seen anyone discuss soaps in a serious way, more of an "this outrageous thing happened on my soap" way.

I have seen people (non-buffistas) discuss soaps in a serious way, and it's a frightening thing. Of course these are the same people who get most of their news from the grocery checkout lane and forward every hoax email in the hopes of getting paid a million dollars or so they don't fall down a well.

True, but by "anyone", I meant "anyone on the board",

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The definition given includes soaps.

If someone needs to have the difference spelled out, I'm perfectly happy to have the line "no, this does not include daytime soap operas" added to the ballot.
