I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

On the font question: all whitefont all the time with show headers does seem like it would prevent accidental spoilage, but just picturing a whole screen of whitefont is weirding me out. Is that how Spoilers Lite works? Do people hang out there and discuss things, or just nip in and out with information?

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I don't necessarily have a problem with being able to discuss certain things in more than one place, either.

I think I''m misremembering...But didn't this conversation come out of a desire to incorporate certain shows into the premium thread, moving the conversation there?

A bucket thread is not something I personally am interested in and the shows I watch are not at the top of the list for new-thread-dom. That being said, I wager that if a bucket thread is created for the shows I do watch, I prolly won't participate, but will continue to whitefont about them in Natter.

Am I going to shushed to the door and told that they are discussing it in TVish threads?

What is even happening?

I hope not. If we started regulating Natter, it wouldn't be Natter.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Am I going to shushed to the door and told that they are discussing it in TVish threads?

Not shushed, but precedent says you'll be gently redirected to the "right" thread. Discussions in Natter of shows with dedicated TV threads elsewhere don't tend to gain much traction.

You're not misremembering, but when I initially brought up the addition of FX shows to Premium, I stated pretty plainly that I had no opinion about whether discussion of those shows continued in Natter. I don't see it as an either/or proposition, necessarily--the people for whom natter works, let them keep it. But I wanted the freedom to discuss the fx shows in the premium thread because I thought the audience was very similar.

Art Crawl!!!

Are you being prevented from discussing FX shows in the premium thread?

By the thread description, yeah.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

We already know single show threads work, but that some shows aren't suited to them, while others generate posting volume that makes them preferable (and even necessary).

We already know bucket threads work for some people and not others, and that most of us want the bucketing to make some sort of sense. For some people, sense-making comes in the form of clear, bright lines, while other people are less concerned with the clear, bright lines.

My hope, in setting up this experiment, it to get a better idea of which shows we will actually talk about, in TV threads. We all have shows we love. Some of them are going to generate conversation, but some aren't.

So, what do people think is a fair black/white font policy for this experiment?

I want to be clear -- I'm asking about black/white font for the experiment, only. And I'm asking about it for the experiment only, because I want to maximize participation in the experiment. The more Buffistas who participate, the better idea we'll have at the end, of what works best for most members of the community, and what most members of the community are willing to tolerate in TV related threads.

Are you saying you will only consider one giant tv thread for this experiment?

I understand that you want to find out what shows generate discussion, but I don't think this type of experiment will give you accurate data. One reason being that many shows have ended or will be ending seasons soon. Another reason is that I doubt I'm the only one who won't get into an all tv thread (or all drama) because it's just too much. Therefore what font color is used won't matter to me.

This right here is our biggest problem now, I think -- we picked a horrible time to try and figure out what our show thread needs are. Yes, we have the last sweeps of the season coming up, but that's only four or five weeks and then everything will calm down a lot.

No, the proposal was thread or threads. I'm leaning toward threads, today.
