From library public computer (had to bring 91-year old spry, with-it Mom to check her email):
I do think it is worth noting that shows that do have that mediafannishness--House, FNL, The Office, Grey's--could potentially be discussed in a way that is accessible to people who either don't do Natter, or for situations not unlike mine can't participate in Natter discussion. .... I'm in a unique situation.
SA is me in that I would like to talk about those shows & more, would be likely to try to do so if they are somewhere besides warp-speed instant-computer-gratification Natter.
Theo: A reminder that we will need final wording of your proposal by Sunday morning.
Okay, cribbing pretty closely from the last Vote Proposal:
Proposal: That we add a new thread to the TV and Film Discussion Folder specifically dedicated to Heroes.
The tentative title is We Could Be Heroes, with the description specifying that it is for discussion of the TV series and ancillary materials such as web comics.
The thread shall be designated as NAFDA.
The Press announcement is up:
Voting Has Begun!
And with that, I close this thread.
Cindy has made the following proposal.
I propose we study our TV habits to see what else we like to post about, besides the stuff we already post about. To that end, I propose we open one or more temporary threads for discovery. White font policy and number/category of temporary threads will be determined after discussion in Lightbulbs. These temporary threads would shut down on June 1, 2007, and we'll come back to Bureacracy at that time, to suss out what works and what doesn't.
I am now opening Lightbulbs to discuss that proposal. NoiseDesign had made a prior proposal, but did not get the required number of seconds at this time, so that proposal is not currently under discussion here.
So does this mean that we need to now propose in here what these threads should be?
Yes. When discussion wraps-up, Cindy will revise the proposal to make it more concrete and, hopefully, reflect some sort of consensus that has been developed in thread.
Also, after voting, if you feel that your original proposal did not get addressed, you are still able to repropose and lobby for your seconds for your separate thread.
eta: Ha! Which, okay, you clearly know since you addressed it over in b'c, but for clarity.
So my thinking is that we should try both a single show thread or two and a bucket thread or two during this test period. Seems to be the best way to get a feel for the viability of both types.
