Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

I tried to pull together a list of what shows the two networks currently have that are either airing now, about to air or have been confirmed to return, within the next year or so, in some form or another.

HBO:
· Big Love
· Curb Your Enthusiasm
· Deadwood
· Entourage
· Rome
· Sopranos, The
· Wire, The

Showtime:
· Brotherhood
· Dexter
· L Word, The
· Masters of Horror
· Sleeper Cell
· Weeds

What, no love for Lucky Louie?

I'm kidding. No one loves Lucky Louie.

Deadwood, The Sopranos, and The Wire are the only ones of those I've watched on a regular basis, although I have Curb Your Enthusiasm in my Netflix queue.

If the Buffistas want a separate thread, I think it should include some of the HBO-lite shows like Rescue Me or The Shield, just to keep participation high. But I'm not married to this idea.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is the term "bright line" for really clear and unsubjective rules? I love bright lines, if that's the case. HBO-lite means what?

HBO-lite means what?

Cable shows with cuss words and fucking.

What, no love for Lucky Louie?

It was on my list but then I took it off because I can't believe they'd renew it. Or, at least, I don't want to believe they'd renew it.

I think it should include some of the HBO-lite shows like Rescue Me or The Shield, just to keep participation high.

I worry that it's a slippery slope. If you add in FX shows, why not add in TNT shows? And then some other cable network shows? Etc.

'Sokay with me. I just figured if it's going to be a separate thread, we should keep those horizons broad for greatest participations. But, yeah, that's not an easy line to draw.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The broad horizons of a general TV thread were the problem.

Gotcha. Would it be possible to have two separate proposals, then? One for a new premium tv thread and one for expanded boundaries of the Movie thread? Does anyone else think that the latter is a good option?

Cable shows with cuss words and fucking.

So it would be a "We're watching these motherfucking shows" thread?

Ha! Actually, I don't watch either of those shows (Rescue Me or The Shield, that is), but I know people who talk about them as wannabe HBO shows.
