Yeah, I understand it with the LotR thread. With this one, I'd think I'd want the option to archive it, since if there was revived interest, a new thread could be started without too much loss of continuity. Since it'd be starting with a new book.
Part of the benefit of closing threads is the neatening, and I wouldn't want it to sit out there forever, closed but not archived.
Here's Allyson's proposal, as put forward in Bureaucracy:
Please to add another Boxed Set thread to the TV folder, tentatively titled, "Boxed Set: Premium."
HBO/Showtime, like Deadwood, Big Love, Entourage and such.
Call it what you will. "Boxed Set" is all about things that happened last season ... but a place to find conversations about
Weeds,
Brotherhood,
and the like would be appreciated.
That is a Yeah vote.
I'd love to have a place to talk about Julie Benz's new show, Dexter, which is supposed to start airing on Showtime this fall.
"Boxed Set" is all about things that happened last season
Actually, that's very much not the case, as the topic is almost always current shows, but that's not what this discussion is about. Carry on.
You are most correct, sir. "Boxed Set" invokes images of DVD's in my head. The actual congress in the current Boxed Set is more current than that. Which, I reckon, is the complaint.
Unless it's Doctor Who. . .
It's weird, as I halfway blame myself for this becoming an issue, that I've not decided where I stand on it.
See, if you are going to make
Deadwood
sentences like that, you need a place to talk.
