Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Oh I like the idea of Tom as evil dictator. That may be my next proposal.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I've got the root password. I'm already a defacto evil dictator.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Seconded!

(defacto or not)

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm fine with the lack of debate. I mean, as long as there is no pressing reason to close the thread RIGHT NOW what is the big deal with just not having much debate, voting on the proposal in a couple of days, and closing the thread then?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The point of having a set debate period is not just for the people who've already shown up, but to give the less regular amongst us a chance to realise there's a discussion happening--one of the bullshit consensus problems was how it was the rule of whoever was there at the time.

Now it can be the rule of whoever was there in that four day period.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I move Tom be voted benevolent dictator. He can declare national holidays, and we can make him wear a cape and sit in a convertible for endless parades.

No problem with closing the LOTR thread, however.

In case I wasn't clear above, I wasn't advocating ending the debate, I was advocating keeping the thread open for the full period even though there isn't much debate going on.

No objections to closing the thread from my direction.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Here, I'll stick in my two cents worth. Close the thread. It will be one less that I have to ignore whenever I go to the main page to reset my subscribed threads.

Sorry Burrell. I got confused because yours was the first mention I recalled mentioning ending (or not) the discussion.
