I tell you I have this theory. It goes where, you're the one who's not my sister. Cuz mom adopted you from a shoe box full of baby howler monkeys, and never told you cuz it could hurt your delicate baby feelings.

Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Plus agreement not to craft the ballot here, but the proposer words it, and then has the option to revise it after discussion before it is put up for vote.

I read that part, Hec. Thanks. Makes sense to me, says the girl who will never ever propose something to be taken to vote EVER.

Not even the baby's name? Surely you can't be trusted with that yourself. What if Mr. Muttonchops wants to name the baby Furbellow Burrell? And in a fit of pique you decide the baby may only be named One Day In The Life of Ivan Denisovich Burrell? Surely you'd want a preferential ballot, and the input of Buffistas arguing for Lilo Burrell and Go14 Burrell. And when beautiful little No Preference Burrell was nestled in your arms and you looked up into Mr. Burrell's eyes you'd know the best possible choice had been made.

AARRGH!

Besides we all know what her name would be if it came to a Buffista vote -- Monkey Pants.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I am working on the proposal now.

As long as we're modifying things, can I ask if we can have our days of voting this time start at 9pm EST? It isn't very round, but I don't think I can stay up until 12 to post the thing?

Makes sense to have a voting time that works for the East Coast too. I have no problem with going from 9pm to 9pm.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

9PM is ok with me. I should have the ballot ready in time.

What were we going to use for Cindy's informal question 2? The "more than 6 months/less than 6 months" doesn't seem very useful to me. I think that if 6 doesn't win, I'm sure that it will be because folks want it shorter, not longer. Were we going to use the "pick a number from 1 to 12" idea (or whatever the range was)?

Actually I like the midnight deadline. But I don't think there'd be much objection to the ballot starting at 9 pm and going until midnight of the third day. I think we did that for the discussion too.

Jon--

I guess I am supposed to come up with the final ballot. I think I may be going with Nutty's. I'll post it here in about an hour.

Sophia - FWIW - I think as long as people have 72 hours, we should allow the proposer/poster to pick a start time of his or her choosing. 9pm is fine by me, by the way, but you know, 5am would be too, because in the end, it's all the same amount of time.
