Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Actually, I already say that:

PROPOSED: that we close the existing Buffy and Angel threads.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Yeah, well, you didn't say archived, and the Buffy thread is already closed and okay, maybe I skimmed.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

While I suppose one might get a little discusion traction and more show-related posting by combining the two threads, I'd rather keep them separate. I don't think that's driven by nostalgia so much as just thinking they're separate and distinct entities. We wouldn't consider folding in Firefly because it's another 'verse, but Buffy & Angel really are so tonally different that they feel more distinct than commmon. I don't think there's a compelling usage issue to trim away one thread.

I also kind of hate the idea of looking at asscaps, misspelling and an ExclamBar all the time. You know, unless Rio's pretty face is on the other side of a post.

I can't even.

Uh, wow. Okay, I have thoughts. They may be slightly drunk thoughts (how to survive Employee Recognition Day, spend it drunk on your boss' tab). I would prefer to continue with separate threads, but I could be tempted, if and only if, the buffynangle4evah!!11!! thing is implemented. Grammar hatahs, like whatever, the esteemed buffynangle4evah thing is totally fandom canon, so it gets a walking pass from this prescriptivist.

Okay, as I was, or as you were. The one of those that applies.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Don't really mind combining the two threads, but the title makes me want to heave.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I guess we're pretty clear on why we're together.

Strongly felt opinions on a) shows and b) grammar/spelling.

Sure, they aren't the same views, but that's the fun part, huh?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I often find myself with thoughts that I can't decide whether they belong in Buffy or Angel because they encompass both (often being relative,I suppose, considering how I'm not posting in either thread on a daily/weekly/monthly basis), so I lean towards combining. But I see the philosophical basis for keeping separate.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hee. And the b.org is summed up quite prettily.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I like the idea of combining the threads (and I like the proposed title). My online time is too limited for me to keep up with the two threads as they have been, but I'd probably sub to a combined one.

Are you ready to be strong?

I love the idea of the thread and the hilario title and also all of you.

I like the idea of combining them, because they are after all, one 'verse, and I think about them in conjunction much more now (even if it is to contrast them) and it feels organic.

This is exactly how I feel.
