I'm just, uh, just feeling kinda... truthsome right now. And, uh... life's just too damn short for ifs and maybes.

Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

What is even happening?

le nubian, since every item after number 1 is for the same thread, they should all be part of the same item. The ballot will work better if people choose among them. Otherwise, as you have it designed now, the results have the potential to add a whole bunch of thread. Unless you're proposing that we open as many threads as people want--in that case, it is fine.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I'm an academic, so I'd prefer to collect the most data and then deal with the results later. I can't think of another way to do it that would address the Hard Core Spoiler people and the Hard Core Lite people.

This gives people as much choice as they desire and if this nets too many recommended threads, then we can deal with that in another week.

In some ways, I feel that the administrative issue and what people want are two different things that need to be dealt with in separate instances. If people see this as REALLY problematic, I can change the poll again.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I'll try to get the ballot up today.

Who's counting the vote?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Heaven knows. Should I?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I will as long as I don't have to deal with poll watchers.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Jon, I'll do it.

LeN, I don't think we've ever had the proposer count the votes. We figure the proposer's already gone through enough aggravation.

Heaven knows. Should I?

It's probably better if, as a rule, a ballot proposer doesn't also count the votes. Not a trust issue, but just to avoid the appearance of impropriety.

ETA: and of course, DX's reason.

I'll get the ballot up this evening. Too busy at work right now.
